The snug relationship between occult fantasy and the actual
practice of the occult is well established in history.
Writers such as H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Rice Burroughs,
progenitor of the Tarzan and Jane tales,
were practicing occultists.

AOL simply blocks e-mails with the URL entirely, without any notification either to the recipient or the sender. Yahoo! puts the messages into a suspected spam folder. (I discovered the problem when sending messages to my own mailing-list on YahooGroups.)

I have been unable to get any useful response from either company; neither responds (if at all) with anything but a message proclaiming that Spamguard provides great protection from spam. Just to find out what specifically caused messages to be so classified, I had to experiment on my own. I cannot imagine why the URL would be taken as an indication of spam, nor has either company provided any indication.

Since I naturally include the URL of my website in my sigfile, this had the result of erroneously blocking all my e-mails.

Fortunately, GeoCities allows an alternative form for the URL, and this does not trigger the "spam" software. This is

Since the SoHo/9879/ form may cause problems, I ask that anyone who links to my website use the clorebeast form of the URL.
