My grandfather served proudly in WWII. He trained in Hawaii, then fought in Saipan, Japan. In most of his war pictures he kept smiling even in the worst times. Of course he may have been thinking of those Hula girls back on the Island, lol.
Grandpa now suffers from Alzheimers and doesn't remember his war stories. I'm scrapbooking his memoribilia the best I can so that what he went through won't be completely lost. We have the pictures, V-mail letters, and even his little bible that he carried. |

My grandfathers on both sides served in WWII. My father served in the USAF at Grissom Air Force Base. My baby brother is still serving in the US Army (now guard). We all had our hearts in our throats while he was in Iraq.
My love, Roni, is stationed at Holloman AFB. We were high school sweethearts back in the 80's. He was my first love... my true love. Now he is in the US Air Force. It's rough in the desert in New Mexico, but with the help of our church family, the military family, and of course our loved ones back home, we will pull through. |
