3 Pakistanis record G2 summit with French expedition

 ISLAMABAD — Three Pakistanis reached the summit of Gasherbrum II, 8035 metres on July 30 at 10:00 am.

The three high altitude porters were assisting the French expedition who were climbing the peak from the normal route.

Nine climber in all made the summit from the French expedition.

The first one to reach the summit was Wahab Ali Shah (nephew of Rajab Shah who is the first Pakistani with the five 8000ers) followed by Aminullah Baig and Sajid Karim. The three belong to Shimshal the last village at the Pakistan China border.

Le Touse Joel led the French expedition and besides him Ducret Eric, Thery Patrice, Paret Alain Serpette Herve and Thevenet Jean Marie. All the climbers made the summit on July 30.
