<*Vampiress*>
A Poem by Melissa Jean
Sitting and waiting Watching and debating Pondering my life's blood Feeling my heart and hearing it's thud I sense the presence of the living Those people who are callous and unforgiving I prey on them Sucking their life's blood limb to stem I hunger for their impure flesh I want to rip at their delicate, tenuous, sinuey mesh I embrace their fragrant, liquid lullabye I watch their confused and excited expressions as they die I walked amongst mankind for centuries unknown Observing the ways in which they have grown I am immortal I know no mortal death Do not weep for me nor be bereft I chose my path by my will and by my will alone I made this mistake for which I can never atone So if you see me on those dank, dark, merciless streets in the dead of night Stand back in wonder be amazed in fright For I am the Dark Lady, the unbeloved, the Mistress of the Dark And if I the Vampiress should beckon you; you should feel your life's last poetic spark!
YES! I Understand

Flights of fancy; a ponderous plight When gypsys dance with the pale moon light They bounce around turning about Putting all men in wonder; putting them in doubt They cast their spells with wicked delight Making the fire burn brighter a luminous light They wear charms around their neck They keep all their angry demons in check They know the future, present, and past If you ask them they'll say nothing lasts They read your fortunes in the caravan by the road They look at your hand carefully Your destiny has easily been foretold If you look carefully you'll see it too But you don't have the EYES to see , now do you?

~Gypsys~
I understand you now more than I thought Your lessons were well learned and then well taught You were once what I am in a season long ago You've seen a lot you seemed to know You seemed to have felt my hurt and pain before But it's all in the past you know the score You know all the right solutions To my all my awkward, inward troubling pollutions When I said I shouldn't care that much You told me not to push it away, to always keep it in touch For when we lose track of who we are We fall out of place like some distant star You said, "Wipe the slate and make it new." You said, "When you change your thoughts change your view." I am growing now more and more It's a labor some task an arduous chore One day I'll be free just like you I'll be able to fly like so few flew!
