Bound by the Past; Torn from Glory
A Reunion:
The scene fades in, in, believe it or not, the infamous Jonny Fly Mansion in New York City. An estate that lives in TNT fame as the only home of a wrestler that has carried a live show. The mansion has as much history in TNT as it's owner does. It is the spot Fly and his father were shot just minutes after reuniting after 7 years, it is the spot where Fly and Gravedigger his their cache of weapons, as well as the place where one, if not THE, greatest wrestler in TNT History mastered his craft. An estimated 45 live broadcasts for TNT Wrestling have taken place inside the building, and here we are, yet again.
The scene has changed quite noticeably from the well-kept place we are used to seeing. The lawn has grown out, vines line the trees and corners of the house, untrimmed, and the usually bright glossy white color of the house is almost a beige from our distance. One car sits in the driveway, drawing our attention. Why is there a car in the driveway of a house that is so noticeably abandoned? It calls for a closer look. The cameraman begins moving toward the house, to the door, and then into the house. As we know from our many previous journey's into Fly's Mansion..straight ahead is the living room, and one doorway to the left of that is the kitchen.
Voices are heard from that very direction, and we move forward, ever curiously. We approach, and then enter the living room, facing the doorway into the kitchen. From there we notice several men standing. We move toward the doorway opening up the entire picture to the scene in the kitchen of the Jonny Fly Mansion. Fly's kitchen island is the centerpiece of a meeting..more..a reunion. Telling by the highly distinguished "DH" on the breast of nearly all 12 or so men inside the kitchen, it's the reunion of..
The Dynasty Hitmen
We listen in to the context of the meeting..
"I don't care about the last time. Last time we were paid to help him. It was our gig, it was money that we needed. This time, let's do it for real. Be honest with yourselves, if it wasn't for him, most, if not all of us are in jail. He covered up that little mishap at the Key Arena. Everyone of you know that. This is our chance to repay our debt. Let's go get him.."
A roar of approval is heard as the scene comes to a close.
Diary Entry #2:
-I'm growing weaker.
-Have you ever looked up into the sky at night and seen those stars, flickering, all the way in the distance? You swear at one point, that it has finally gone out as you continue to stare at it, but yet, it pops back on at the last possible second to show it's still alive.
-That is me. Right now.
-I'm flickering. I don't know how long I have left. The world as I lived it seems so foreign right now. I can only look on as the company that brought me from International Superstar, to the best wrestler ever, almost calls desperately for my former help.
-I reach toward it, as it reaches to me. I try to grasp, but, nothing. Because it wasn't real. That is why I'm a patsy for a drug dealer, as I deserve to be, and TNT lives on.
-My plaque in the hallway has gotten dusty. My statue in front of TNT Headquarters, it's limbs are slowly crumbling away in the sun. I could probably walk into that place now, and nobody would take notice. Or would they just not care? I don't know if I could take that.
-And where have my "friends" gone? Why is it that I've been abandoned here? Were they just riding my coattails, not knowing of course, that I was riding others coattails? Where are you Kent Strong? Mark Vincent? Anyone? Why have my Dynasty brethren gone on like nothing's wrong?
-I thought we said we were forever? Wasn't our thing to always help another member, no matter what, no matter when, no matter the circumstance? Has that fallen by the wayside? Why? I'm desperate here..
-My star..my light..it's going. It'll only flicker a few more times..before it's gone.
-..forever..
-I need a miracle here, and I'll sit here and wait..and hope..
-Fly, 4-20-05
