DX Eradicator - uninstalls Directx9 from all Windows platforms. For full documentation, visit http://www.freewebz.com/firecat.
To use this program and get back to playing Axis & Allies on the zone, follow these steps:
1. Unzip the file dxe109b2.zip
2. Run the file DXE109_PR2.EXE that was unzipped in step 1. This will unzip the contents of DXE109_PR2.EXE to another file.
3. Run srcheck.bat. This should uninstall directx9. For Windows XP, an XP restore CD may be required.
4. Install Directx8.1 (any version from 7.0 thru 8.1 should work for A&A). You can usually find an installer for Directx8.1 on most game CD's you may have bought in the last couple of years. Or get DX7 from http://www.balance-of-power.net/Information-Section/Download-Center.htm.
5. Re-install Axis & Allies.
6. Delete the dplayx.dll file from your Axis&Allies folder.
7. Apply the A&A patch Axis1331.zip, available at http://www.balance-of-power.net/Information-Section/Download-Center.htm
