Skating Programs

TOTSKATE
TotSkate is offered for preschoolers ages 2-4 years old. Skaters should be able to stand/walk on their own. The goal is to have the skaters get familiar with skates, ice gliding, and falling using teaching aids, music and a wide variety of activities that create a fun environment and promote learning.

CANSKATE
CanSkate is Skate Canada's flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners of all ages and is the feeder program to all other Skate Canada Skating Programs. It focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. You will earn badges and other incentives as you learn fundamental skating skills. Lessons are given in a group format and led by NCCP certified professional coaches, who are assisted by trained Program Assistants. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, music and a wide variety of activities that create a fun environment and promote learning.

JUNIORS (formerly Juveniles)
Juniors offers young skaters to make the transition between CanSkate and StarSkate programs. It introduces the skaters to four specific areas of skating: skating skills, freeskate, stroking and dance. Group lessons are conducted each skating day with the option of private lessons.

STARSKATE
StarSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. This program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner. Skaters also have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.

ADULT LEARN TO SKATE
Adult skating is growing in popularity all over the country. The Adult Learn to Skate program is offered to anyone who would like to come out to skate once a week in a fun, social environment and learn the fundamentals of skating.
