If you want to know good places around Toronto to ride check out the Toronto Cycling Map showing Toronto's 125 km bike trail system. Since it took me a long time to download the pdf files, here are local copies of the two pdf files found on the above web site:
You can zoom in and out while viewing in Acrobat Reader.BTW week in Toronto. Coming soon this spring. Once that has passed there is no reason not to make every week a BTW. Try it. You'll like it. Try to pick a route that is not likely to be used by cars (use side streets through neighborhoods rather than the busy main roads you normally drive on). This will reduce your interaction with the autos that are out there. Commuters are used to seeing the occasional bike and are pretty good about giving you enough room. You can easily wash with soap and a face cloth when you arrive at work (unless you are lucky enough to have shower facilities where you work).
It is a great way to start the day and burn off frustration at the end of the day.
