Dear Classmates:

In 1963, we arrived at L. J. Price High School (about 800 strong) as excited, precocious and apprehensive eighth graders.  We came from many elementary schools that surrounded the high school.  At those learning institutions, we were the 'big fish'.  In turn, at Price, we were suddenly the youngest and smallest minnows in a larger pond.  Over the course of the next five years we grew, we learned, we explored new territory, we found places of comfort. We became the
Class of 1968.

However, this entire experience was merely a preparation for life beyond Commencement Day.  We were preparing to leave the larger pond at Price to swim the oceans of the world.  It is important to note that while we were navigating our way through Price, extraordinary events were taking place in the world around us.  Some of these events were exemplary, some were heartbreaking, some subtle, and some were breathtaking.  These occurrences would shape our futures.  They sent us swimming in directions that we never dreamed of just years before.

The faculty and staff at Price, along with our families, were creative in steering us toward these new waters.  There were opportunities and possiblities that were new to us all.  Those visionaries taught us that the best course to take was to be open to new ideas and to be good, productive citizens.  Using these tools, many of us were taken physically and spirtually to places far from the spawning pond at Price High School.

Now it is forty years later. Yes,
forty years!

During that span of time we have become many entities in many fields of endeavors.  But the common denominator is the eternal fact that we were, we are, we will always be members of the Class of 1968 at Luther Judson Price High School!

Therefore, let us come together once more to celebrate that common connection.  Let us remember those who did not swim this far and let us honor our dear homeroom teachers.  Let us come together to see old friends and to be thankful that we are here.
