Learn latin by yourself: The Ultimate Guide

'Learn as if you are to live forever.
Read as if you are to die tomorrow.'

The Dictionary

An Electronic Dictionary called "WORDS", now with a Win95 interface. The author will tell us not to rely in it, since he is an amateur just like you and me. Such a dictionary will still help you, as you start, because it will find for you most words in Latin, even if they are declined. The good student in me must warn you to move to a "real" dictionary as soon as you feel able, and start turning the pages. (Even though I do feel able, I must confess I haven't...)

I have bought this dictionary, but I am not sure I am happy with it. I would like to have more of an encyclopedic dictionary, with more information on every word's usage, its history, etc.

I am mentioning it here anyway:

Cassell's Latin Dictionary : Latin-English, English-Latin

This is the one I will be buying soon:

Oxford's Latin Dictionary.

Not for the faint of heart: an encyclopedia of everything classical. This is NOT a regular dictionary! I must have this!

The Oxford Classical Dictionary : The Ultimate Reference Work on the Classical World
