Miasmic
He hadn't felt any warmth for a long time. He didn't think that his parents were still around. It was probably unlikely. He could still feel the presence of his other two siblings beside him though. Even though he didn't know them, and had never met them, he felt a strange connection to them all the same. He wondered if they didn't feel the warmth either. When you're in a cocoon, you need to feel warm!

Feeling slightly helpless, he pondered his situation. There was only a few things that could happen. He would either be found, and be killed or taken care of by the person that found him, or not be found, and would either die of the cold before he could come out of the cocoon, or would come out early. It would be one of those, although he was a little distressed that it seemed like the negatives overweighed the positives. He had an active mind though-being in a cocoon for so long does that to you.

He felt a sudden movement and wondered what was going on. Had someone picked him up? What was going to happen now?

Lucina sniffed busily around in the hollow of the tree. Something smelled quite strange, and she was very intrigued. She sent a mental message to Tyri, beckoning him to come check it out too. Two noses were always better than one, after all! A few moments later, Tyri arrived and instantly started sniffing about himself. Lucina busied herself around the trunk of the tree.
There is something in there, I just know it! She thought fiercly.

She stepped closer to the base of the tree and her paw sank deep within some underground indentation. She dug frantically at the base of the tree, and called Tyri to her frantically.

*Tyri, it's here! Over here! Come help me!* she called. He was instantly at her side, the two digging furiously, heaps of dirt flying haphazardly into the air. Finally a small hollow was revealed.

*It must be a cave,* said Tyri. *Likely some animal filled in the hole with some dirt to diguise it while they were out hunting. Nothing to worry about Luci*

*No no no Tyri! Don't you smell it? It smells like us! Like Egyptans! Maybe they need our help!* Tyri stuck his nose in the hole, cautiously at first, and withdrew, nodding his head in agreement.

*I smell it now* he said. *Okay, how do you want to go about doing this?*

*How about I go in first, since I'm the smallest, and see if there's anything in there of interest?*

*Okay,* he replied hesitantly, and gave her a quick lick on the muzzle. *Just be careful. If you need any help, just let me know* Lucina nodded and squirmed her way into the tight hole that the two of them had dug out. The tunnel soon widened into a small den, supported by the roots of the trees. Her eyes adjusted quickly to the change in light and she took stock of her surroundings. She could not, however, see anything that resembled an Egyptan. Her frustration was evident, but she could still smell something, and it was fresh. It had to be here! She searched around the area and her eyes lighted on a pile of dead leaves and various pieces of soft material- hair, fabric scraps, etc. She nosed about in it and gasped in delight. There lay 2 small cocoons! She grasped the first one lightly in her mouth and crawled slowly back up the tunnel. Tyri was just as happy as she was.

*It's a cocoon!!* he said excitedly, prancing around. Luci rolled her eyes theatrically and groaned.

*Yeah, yeah, that's great and all, but could you grab it? I have one more to get out of there!*

*Oh,* he said sheepishly, gently extracting the cocoon from her muzzle. *Sorry bout that.* Lucina crept back down into the tunnel and repeated the same passover with the other cocoon. She and Tyri decided it would be best to take them back to Nyxa and Vulcan, and see what they wanted to do.

Nyxa and Vulcan were thrilled, but were opposed to Luci and Tyri's idea of raising them theirselves (at this point, the four of them had learned to communicate).

"Luci, Tyri, you can hardly raise them yourselves! You're just teens! Give them into our care until you're adults, and then we'll let you raise them as your own." The two Egyptans nodded in agreement. They'd wait until they were older before they decided to raise their own cocoons. Perhaps they could raise them with their own cubs that they planned to have one day.
