We'll be working on memorizing
the addition and subtraction
facts.
It's very important for your child to practice at home. Fact triangles
are in the Home links Book. Start with the addition then subtraction facts
to 9.
As you've noticed the math
homework has officially begun.
Children should keep the math Homework Calendars in their folders so
they can write the assignments on them.
It's important that your
child be able to tell time. Here are
the
instructions I give them : 1. Look at the hour
hand. (small) What number is it on or after? Write it down. 2. make a : 3. Look at the minute
hand. (big) Now start at number 1
and count by 5’s until you get to it. Write it
down.
The kids had a good time
making
number scrolls to 1,000.
Science
October is our month for studying the skeletal system. I'll be asking
the kids to bring in any (clean) skulls or other bones that may
be in your yard or garage.
Our Symbolic Migration butterflies have been sent. We really hope that
the Mexican school children like them and take good care of them.
Butterflies made by other children will be returned to us in the
spring. (just like the real monarchs)

A book order form will go home each month. They are due back to me, if
you're purchasing, the Friday after they go out. Checks only, please.
