This is my site, with my designs. So, naturally, I'll waffle on for a bit about myself:
My name is, currently Clare Beaton. I was born on the 13th of October, 1984, making me 15 years old as of last October (I said that for those who are "Mathematically challenged"). I'm female, with brown eyes, and brown hair. I'm 5' 7 1/2" tall.
I have a Mum, a Sister, and a Dad, as well as assorted pets, including Julius, (a beautiful Carpet Python of about 7 feet in length), Hazel (a Shingleback Lizard), Emma (a strange crossbreed dog of dubious origins), Yoda (an axylotl), and Basil (a big fluffy Angora lop-eared Rabbit).
I was born in Australia, contrary to what some think, but at the moment I'm temporarily living in New Zealand, because I'm here with my Dad, as he is working on the upcomming film the Lord of the Rings I also work on this film, at the moment I work for a few hours a day at the same place as my Dad, at Weta Workshop, and it's great. I work weekdays after school, in the weapons and Armour department.
I'm in year 11, New Zealand, which is the equivalent to year 10 in Australia, and I don't know what in other countries. Currently, I'm doing my School Certificate, the subjects I'm studying are Science, English, Maths, and Art; while I also take a Creative Technology (Web & Graphic Design) course and National Certificate of computing.
I have a strange, warped, twisted sense of humor, I love TV shows like Monty Python's flying Circus and Red Dwarf. My favorite TV show in the entire world (and known Universe) is Roughnecks: Starship Troopers chronicles. My favorite character from the show is Pvt. T'Phai. My hobbies include:
- Drawing. This is mostly design stuff, although on very rare occasions I will do cartoons, if I can think of stuff funny enough to do a cartoon of. I mostly design creatures, aliens, but I'll do just about anything.
- Sculpting. I'm kind of just getting into sculpting. I'm starting out tryig to do a few action figures. At the moment I'm sculpting one of T'Phai, from R:STC. It should be cool when I've finished it, I'm taking care with detail. I'll post some pics when I've finished.
- Star Wars Colecting. So I've got a weakness. I have a small, yet growing collection of assorted SW figures, around about 45 so far, as well as several 12" figures amongst other stuff.
- Reading. I read an awful lot, like so many people my age used to do. I love Sci-Fi and Fantasy, my favorite author is Anne McCaffery.
-Herpetology (Reptile Keeping). Back in Australia, I kept Reptiles. I still own a Carpet Python (Morelia spilota varigata) and a Shingleback (Trachydosaurus rugosus), both of which are being minded in Australia until my return, at the end of the year.
- Web Design. I have three web pages online (including this one) and I'm working on a third in my Creative Technology class.
And that's all my hobbies.
My hopes for the future - I'd like to be involved with film. I've always wanted to be a Production Designer/Conceptual Artist, or a Director. I have some interesting ideas for films, mostly Sci-Fi.
