Tammy: I heard you were nervous about this interview. Don't be nervous. It's just gonna be like a casual conversation, just between the two of us..but not.
David: Hahah, no, no, I'm not nervous.
Ok then, good! Let's get started with some raw facts then....
Full name:David Kee-Youn Shin
Nickname:Panda, cuz I look like one...oh, and because I'm cuddly. Well, that's what the girls tell me anyway-the girls in high school. Oh... and people call Jon Ou Panda too but I'm the real Panda cuz.....cuz I'm cuddly!
OH! That's my boyfriend's birthday too!! Same year too!!
Really? Your boyfriend's younger than you?? Dang, that means younger guys do have a chance with older girls.
Ok anyways, continuing on....
Place of Birth:Bellflower, CA-but I don't remember living there ever. Maybe we were just driving in that area and then my mom had me.I'm not really sure
Oh, Palos Verdes huh? Do you like it there?
Yeah! I LOVE it there!! I love it cuz it's great! Umm...great temperature, pretty girls AND I live on the beach! Yeah! You could see the ocean from my window-I could like jump out my window into the ocean!! Ok, well, not really, but you could see the ocean from my room for real.
Dang, how fun! The beach right outside your door....you should have a get together!
YEAH! We could have a barbeque!! SERIOUSLY, I'll host a Korean BBQ for everyone!!!
Major:PPE, yeah I wanna study business and I like Politics and Econ. I don't really care for Philosophy much but it's ok, I could deal with it.
Car:(smiling slyly) a 325 Beamer, 2001, white. I call it my Pandamobile. Yeah, the girls love it-they all fall in love with it.
Haha, yeah, I'm sure they do. Ok, so now for some questions. How do like Pomona so far?
I love it! It's like having a new family. And I really like the people here. They're all so unique. People who you wouldn't normally put together, just click with each other here at Pomona for some reason. I think it's great!
Was this your first choice college?
Naw, my parents forced me to apply early decision here. My sister, Janet, goes here too so she also pushed my parents into telling me how great is here. I originally wanted to go to U Penn for their business program, but I'm glad I came here.
What did you visualize college to be like as a high school student?
Hahah, I thought it would just be 24 hours of girls, parties, late pizza, studying while eating, partying, doing stuff without having to tell my mom. Ok, but on a more serious note, I expected to meet my true friends here. I also expected to meet a real girlfriend here, you know, not like the girlfriends you have in high school-a real girlfriend. Also, I wanted to grow as a person.
So is that what Pomona College turned out to be?
Hehheh, naw...in Pomona, no pizza, not many parties, not that many girls?....well, they're all taken . Ok, no wait, I take that back. I went to that Ether party last night and it was like where did all these girls come from??!! I think they were from Scripps or something. There were some cute HMC girls too. Yeah, gonna have to go check that out.
