Then things started to go wrong. I started to swear in 9th grade, started to smoke when I was eighteen, going to strip clubs, lusting for women and fantasizing about them and other things that assocate with that. I used to do it for years and thought it was okay for awhile.
A former neighbor lady of mine at times asked me to come to church with her. I told her sometime but never did. When my mother passed away in 1992, a funeral director asked if I would like a Bible. I said sure but when I received it a short time later I put it aside and never picked it up. My finances were starting to go bad on me. I bought things that I didn't have money for. Shortly after my friend started to going to church and asked me to go,at first I didn't. But the next time he asked me to go to worship night at the church I said sure. Even when we were getting close I was gotten scared and reluctant to go, but when we got there it was very interesting. Then on occasion I went to church a few times when I didn't have to work. It was the interesting times that I did go.Then when I was able to go more I did.
Shortly after I started on a regular basis I ended up having an accident while I was going to a friend's house. I hit a young teen boy and thankfully that only brusies were a result, but I was shaken up on it. But instead of turning back to go home I continued to go to my friend's house. I told him what happened and asked me to talk to the pastor at the church. What happened is he took me to the church where he was and talked with him. He asked the question if I wanted to Jesus in my life and I told him yes. and prayed the sinner's prayer. The worship team was there practicing and told them about what happen that I had accepted Christ and they prayed over me and I felt the Spirit move within me. It was so great that I never exerienced before.
My finances are improving and I don't have that huge debt that I had, and the swearing has stopped. I thank God for the people that he has placed in my life and the things that he helped me to overcome. That to me is a great feeling.
