The Meaning of Work
One's work is one of the clearest reflections of one's life.  In my work in the past, and certainly in my future endeavors, I hope to derive meaning out of my vocational experiences.

This involves not only pride in what you do, but enthusiasm and drive in the way that you do it.  For me, this also means that the results of my work have an impact on the world around me.  This doesn't mean that I have to achieve any sort of fame or glory.  Merely being able to know that I have made a positive difference in the world around me is enough.

This is one of the reasons that I have so aggressively sought employment in the public sector.  While not necessarily glamorous, or even widely noticed, such employment gives me power to influence decision-making directly at its source.  Along with such responsibility comes a sort of public trust, one which I must share with those I don't even know.  For at the end of the day, it is their interests, not mine, that stand to be protected.
