BIS 301
BIS 301, Foundations of Interdisciplinary Studies, is the first of the BIS Core Courses and serves as an introduction to the methods and concepts of interdisciplinary inquiry.

The methodology of interdisciplinary studies is sometimes unconventional, and BIS 301 was my first glimpse into the interdisciplinary world.  With application and determination, I will put the concepts of theory borrowing and life-long learning to practice in the future.

Not only do I feel that I will achieve more in life as a result of my education, but I also feel that I will gain more out of life armed with the knowledge to think across disciplines and craft creative solutions to complex problems.  This was the main focus of my BIS 301 class, and the foundation of my interdisciplinary learning.

As a result of BIS 301, I approach my life and work in a different fashion.  I will be the first to admit that sometimes it is easier to subscribe to convention than to challenge the world in which we live.  However, BIS 301 has taught me not only to value my critical thinking skills, but how best to use them to my advantage.

Through teamwork, effective communication, and specific goals, I feel that the BIS 301 left me very well prepared to tackle any of the problems the world may throw at me.
