Rogueish Stuff

Ok! So here we are! You want to know the secrets of Roguedom! Well I hope to be able to answer some questions at least. First off! Its Rogue, not Rouge. Rouge is a powder that ladies and prostitutes put on themsleves because they think it makes them more beautiful. While some of the Male rogues may think they have similar effects, well thats not to be discussed here!

I am in the process of making, or I should say adding onto and updating some poison charts. If you click on the respactive items you will come up with what you need. Remember I am not the original author of this, I have just added the expansion poisons, mostly for my own use. The only Link that will work at this time will be poison recipies.

After Poisons I guess you will want to know how to set up an Evade Macro. Yes this is a macro, and not a skill! Although you must know how and when to use it.

This link also is not yet working, pending me being able to take and edit the Screenies!

How to Build an Evade Macro

Alrighty then! For the when and how... you usually Evade to get the aggro off you and onto the rightful owner of it, which is the tank. Now this requires some little skill, and even at my advanced level I still screw up on occasion. In the first situation you are likely to encounter, the tank having first aggro and just the one mob loose, you have to wait for the tank to build his/her aggro a bit (5 seconds or so) before going in swinging, under this I also need to say that the skill of your tank greatly effects how often you Evade. If you tank has subpar weapons, or is just subpar in their skills you may have to evade every backstab or every other backstab. If you have a well equipped tank, and/or one who uses the class properly then you may cut it down to every three to five backstabs. Indeed in high level encounters with quality tanks I dont usually need to evade at all unless I use a disc, hit an especially nice chain of backstabs, or the MT (Main Tank) dies. Ypu will usually get the feel of the quality of your tank within the first 2 o 3 mobs. In addition I'll point out that when I mention tanks I am referring to Warriors, Paladins, and Shadow Knights. When you are using a Ranger, Bard, or Monk as a tank just be safe and evade every backstab.

The second scenario you may run into will be multiple mobs in camp, and one or more beating on a caster, or heavens forbid!, your healer. Now if you have a mezzable class its better not to 'help' unless you are asked to, but often times at lower levels these classes arent able to mezz, or are not as readily available as they are at the high end. Also, this trick is a bit harder to pull off on the high end because the higher level mobs HURT! Ok so back to the ugly_mob_1 beating on the Screaming_caster_1. What will usually happen is the caster will be running in concentric circles attracting as much negative attention to their dropping hps as possible, and making it a pain in the ass for you to grab aggro. Then Screaming_caster_1 dies and your healer, heavens forbid!, gets the aggro because they healed the Screaming_Idiot_1 to try and help. Healers usually stand their ground a bit better just because they are trying to channel through and heal. So now you get in a couple of really nice backstabs on the mob before he takes more notice to his dropping hitpoints than the caster/healers. At this time he will turn around and begun beating you. The caster/healer can now move away safely, and hopefully try to root the ugly_mob_1 giving you the advantage of changing the aggro from hate to vicinity based.

At this time the tank will probably be close to killing the first mob. Usually the root wears off by the time they are done, and if it does chances are you have built your aggro up enough to to keep it off the caster/healer, even with no root. The tank wanders over to help you on the mob, and if you evade right now, guess what! BOING! The mob runs right into the arms of the barely living, or just rezzed caster/healer. Not really what you wanted. So when to evade? You can check you aggro after about 10 seconds by backing up just a little. If the mob seems more interested in the tank then you then 99% chance you are ok to evade. You just need to be careful about how long you wait because at this point the the healers are low on mna, and so are the casters. So you may be thin on heals and no last minute nukes are going to save you. If you get below 40% approx. you will begin to gain blood aggro (mob sees you are the best target to beat on beacuase you are really close to dying). So if the tank has been there for a few combat rounds and you hit 40% you should try to lose your aggro as soon as possible, or risk death. Sometimes you may just have to take the death, but better you than the cleric dying. Easier to rez you than have them make the trip to where you are.

Well now Im tired of writing! Ill add more soon!
