| Relations with Clan Skene |

| Some sources indicate the Oliphants are a Sept of Clan Skene. Throughout my research, I still have not found as much as a marriage to connect these two independent Clans. Although we can not explain the origin of this myth, we can dispel it by reiterating that Clan Oliphant is not a sept of any other Clan, a fact recognised by Lord Lyon's Court and, by the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs. |
