Zerg Strategy:

Same as with Protoss, one of the most common tactics seems to be Zergling rush. While I personally don't care for such a tactic, it is often quite effective, at the very least slowing down their money income early in the game. A good mix of units is Hyrdalisks supported by Zerglings, Hydras for their ranged attack, and Zerglings for their sheer numbers... a good hit taker. While the enemy is shooting Zerglings, he isn't shooting Hydras.

It is a good idea to support attacks with air units. If you have the money, many groups of Mutalisks work quite well. But if you don't, then a group or two of Gaurdians will do... just make sure you have the vespene. A fundamental aspect of base building is many production buildings. With Protoss, many gateways/stargates/robotics facilities. With Zerg, many hatcheries, with your Hydra Den, Spire, etc spread out throughout the base, so for the enemy to destroy your unit making abilities he must hit you in several places. and with Terran, many barracks/factories/starports.

Destroying or crippling the enemies mineral gather abilities can be a very usefull thing. Even if his minerals are surrounded by cannons, spore colonies or turrets, enough Mutas will still destroy it. After such an event, continue to worry him, wear down his defenses, units, and supply of minerals. Or, if you have a sufficient force, simply mass up and kill him. As I mentioned in the Protoss section, misdirection works quite well with Zerg. Mass units in the front of the base, while attacking with a group or two of Guards over the sides, at his production buildings or at his minerals. With all races, all attacks, you must continually mass units, a good solid line of them. He kills your first army, you already have a second.
