I wrote this hornpipe as a result of a conversation between me and some friends in Milltown Malbay, Co. Clare, in 1996. We agreed that every musician has his own excuse - the piper says the weather is screwing up his reed, etc. The kind mentioned in this tune is usually sold in bottles.
