Part 2

Shane reached out his arms and tried to hug the girl. "Get your stinking hands off me!" She yelled, and slapped him across the face. He opened his eyes in shock, only then did he realise that it wasn't her. "I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else." He stuttered. "Obviuosly!" She cried, really annoyed. "Is this guy annoying you?" A tall heavy man had appeared behind the girl. "Just a little bit." "You....leave her alone!" "Ok, I'm sorry, honestly." "Go, before I hit you one." "What's going on?" Mark and Kian had appeared behind Shane.
"Your friend was after my girl." "No, it was an accident, honestly!" Shane defended himself once more. "Ok, maybe we should go." Mark suggested, touching Shane's shoulder to get his attention. "Yeah." They all turned to leave. Once outside, Kian and Mark set about Shane, wanting an explanation. "Well?" Kian asked, frustrated. "I thoought for a moment, that maybe..." "For God's sake Shane for get her! You guys aren't together! Has she even called since you joined the band, does she even know what you're doing?!" Mark questioned.
"Probably not." Shane sighed heavily, and started to wander down the street. "Look, I;m going to head back to the hotel guys. I'll see ya." "Wait on us Shane, we all might as well go back, tonight bombed." Mark admitted, half-heartedly. "Yeah. Come on." "I'm sorry guys, I just never expected this to hit me again, I thought I was over her, maybe not." "It's ok, we understand, you guys were together for ages." "Yeah."
They all jumped into a cab and headed back to the hotel. They wandered into the hotel bar and saw Bryan and Nicky sitting in a quiet corner having a drink. "Hey guys!" They shouted and called the others over. "Finished already?" "Well, young Filan here thought it would be fun to upset the 6ft tall natives." Kian laughed. "Huh?" Nicky looked puzzled. "Shane?" "Yeah." Mark laughed, it was unlike Shane. "Guys can we just drop it please." "Ooohh, Shane, no we can't. Explain all." Bryan teased. Mark and Kian just looked at each other, was it a good idea for Shane to talk about it. "Well, ok..." Shane looked at the others uneasily. "Ummm, where to start......" "I'll get us all a pint in." Mark said, and disappeared towards the bar. "Well, ok,  there was this girl back in Sligo, god, when I was still in high school." He laughed a little.
"Yeah....." Nicky continued, "and?" "She was really nice." Kian added, thoughfully. "Well, anyway, we dated for, " he thought about it, "3years. Until school finished, I was doing my band thing, she left to study abroad." "Abroad? Cool." "She studied here, in New York, journalism I think." "Shane was gutted when they split up, didn't do anything but mope for 3 weeks." Mark explained coming back from the bar, and putting the drinks on the table. "Well, I was convinced she was the one for me, obviously I wasn't the one for her, she left. End of story." Shane sighed again. "But, of course it's not the end of the story, is it Shane?" Bryan said, he had figured out something was wrong. "Well, I was just thinking that maybe if she's here, a journalist I might get to see her again. Long shot I know." He pointed out before the others could tell him that. "Well, who knows." Bryan said, and shuffled some papers about in front of him. "What's that?" Kian asked, grabbing the paper from him.
"Schedule for tomorrow." "Oh right." He looked over the sheet and paused. "Interview and photoshoot, 10am, with Holly Matthews." "Holly Matthews. No it couldn't be. Holly's name wasn't Matthews." Shane stared at the paper. "Photographer Greg Matthews. Wonder if they're married." Mark pondered. "Yeah, ah well, we'll find out if it's your Holly tomorrow Shane." But for Shane,  tomorrow couldn't come fast enough. Was it his Holly?
