| "Did you have a nice couple of days off?" Shane asked when they all met at the airport. "Yeah, it was great. How about you Bry?" Nicky said. "It was great, and very relaxing." "Yeah, marvellous. And I got to sleep long in the mornings." Mark smiled. "How about you, did you have a nice stay? His parents didn't wear you out?" he said to Angelica. "Oh, no. They are such sweet people, and so are his brothers and sisters. I had a great time!" she said. "Mum did what I hoped she wouldn't, though." Kian said. Shane and Nicky looked at him, "Oh no! Not the photo album!" Kian looked down, and nodded. "I'm afraid so lads." Angelica laughed. "Stop it! I thought it was fun. And your mother is just so proud of you Kian, and I really didn't mind. She's such a sweet woman." Kian looked at her suspiciously, with a smile on his lips. "Did she tell you she wanted you as her daughter in law?" he asked. "Yes, she did. Just before you came into the kitchen yesterday evening. She said 'I hope Kian has the wits to marry you.' I'm guessing your father told you the same." He nodded, "Yes, he did." She smiled, "Parents, eh?" They landed in New York hours later, and the lads pulled their baseball caps on. "Just in case." Kian told her. They came out through the gate, and it was a group of girls standing there with Westlife posters, waiting for them. "Shall we? They're not that many." Mark asked when he saw them. "Yeah, why not? Since they aren't that many we can manage it." Shane answered, and they headed over to the girls. "Good evening ladies." Nicky said smiling at them and taking a pen and a poster from the nearest girl. "How you doin' sweetcheeks?" Bryan laughed. After signing their posters, and giving them hugs, the lads went out to the waiting car to get them to their hotel. They were all beat from the long flight, and it didn't take long before Mark fell asleep. "Heh-heh! Should I draw a funny face on him?" Bryan waved a pen in front of Mark's face. "No, just let him sleep. He's tired, the poor lad." Angelica said, and snatched the pen from Bryan's hand before he even knew what she'd done. "Hey! Where'd my pen go?" She handed it back to him, and smiled. "You're too slow McFadden!" The lads laughed, and Bryan put it back into his pocket. "Fine, I'll leave him alone. We're at the hotel anyway." he said, looking out the window. "Here goes then lads," said Shane pulling his cap on again. There were even more girls outside the hotel than at the airport, and they were screaming the lads' names as they got out of the car. "You hurry inside Angel, I won't be long. Okay?" Kian kissed her and she made her way past the girls. Kian saw thatshe was well inside, and she waved at him. They signed a few autographs, and joined her inside the hotel. Chapter 6. *** 3 years later *** "Happy birthday Angelica!" they screamed, jumping out from various hiding places. "Wow!" She jumped, and backed away from them. "Jesus! You scared me! They all laughed at her, and Kian came over and put his arms around her. "Happy 21st honey!" he said and gave her a big kiss. "Thank you."she answered, still a bit shaky. They were all there; Bryan, Mark, Shane, Nicky, Georgina, Louis, Anto, David, Cheryl, Ronan, John, Paul, and all their other colleagues. Some of her friends from home were there too. "This is so nice of you, to do this for me. You really shouldn't have," she said smiling at them all. "Who's idea was this anyway?" she asked and looked around the room. Georgina raised her hand. "I'm the guilty one." she said. Angelica gave her a big hug. "Thank you! However did you come up with the idea to throw a surprise party for me?" she asked. "I just thought that we should do something fun and memorable for your 21st, and a surprise party is always fun. Am I right, gang?" The others cheered, and Bryan came up to her and grabbed her arm. "Now for the best part�the pressies!" he said, and pulled her to a table with birthday presents. "Are these all for me?" Angelica asked surprised. "Yes, they are. And Lord knows you deserve them!" Mark said and hugged her. "Thanks you guys. This is probably the best birthday bash I've ever had!" she laughed. They broke it up around midnight; the lads had a concert performance the next day and they had to be in the hotel lobby at 7am. "I'll see you tomorrow morning then," she said waving them off. "And Mark! You better get up in time, I'm not waiting forever for ya!" He turned around with a big grin, and waved at her. "Fine! I'll be there." She laughed and closed the door. Kian stood in the middle of the room and smiled at her. "What?" she asked. "Nothing, it's just that I have a surprise for you." he said secretive. "Really? You do? What's the surprise then?" she asked, getting very curious. "Nah-ah! I'm not telling! It's a surprise." he teased. Her curiosity grew bigger with his teasing. "Oh fine! Be that way!" she said when she knew that she wouldn't get him to speak. "But can't you at least give me a little hint?" He looked at her, and she could see he was considering her request. "Well, I can at least say this much. The lads told me you'd like it, and Georgina was absolutely thrilled about it and said you'd be mad if you didn't love it." Her eyes grew big, and now she was really curious, but she knew that Kian wouldn't give her anything else on this matter. "You'll see tomorrow." he said and kissed her. "I really hope you like it." She smiled at him. "I'm sure I will!" They met in the lobby the next morning at 7am. "Mark, you're here! This is a first!" Angelica said and smiled. "I told you I'd be here, didn't I?" he smiled back. Anto came over to them. "Okay, you know this show is sent live on telly tonight, so better make it a good one." he said, and then he gave Kian a wink. Kian nodded at him, and smiled. "Well, you're of to the concert hall now. Yeah, you know what you'll do, right lads?" he asked. "Yes, we know." Shane answered. "Let's go then." Nicky said, and they all went out to the van.They arrived at the concert hall not long after, and they all started doing what they were supposed to do. All the time Angelica wondered what the surprise Kian had for her was. She picked up her phone and found Georgina's cell phone number. "Maybe she can give me a hint," she thought as she pushed the call button. "Hi Georgina, it's Angelica." she said into the phone. "Hi Angelica! How are you? Oh, it was a blast last night!" She smiled. "Yeah it was. I had so much fun. Listen, why I'm calling is I was wondering if you could help me out with something." she explained. "Sure, I'll try. What's up?" Georgina asked. "Well, Kian told me last night that he has a surprise for me. And I was wondering maybe if you could give me a hint as to what it is. He told me last night that you said I'd be mad not to love it." She heard laughter on the other end. "I can't tell you anything. Kian swore me to secrecy. The other lads have sworn not to talk too. But this I can tell you; I promise you're going to love it!" Angelica sighed. "Okay, I guess I should just wait then. Are you coming to see them tonight?" she asked. "Mhm, wouldn't miss this show for the world. Well, I've gotta go. See you tonight Angelica!" "Yeah, see you tonight." she said, and hung up. |
