| Chapter 15 "FINE!!!" I screamed at the agent. I slammed the phone down then plopped onto the couch. "No luck, eh?" he asked from his spot besides me. "Nope. The people say they're all sold out and junk. We should have thought ahead." I said. I was so upset since I had just got him back and now he was leaving me, again."It's ok, I'll see you in a month or two." He wrapped his arms around me trying to calm me down. I looked up at him, his light eyes glowed in perfect contrast in color to his dark hair, "Mei, we'll stay in touch. I'll fly down and see you as soon as I can. I'm sure they'll be an opening soon, well sooner than you think..." he trailed off. I released myself from his grip and went back over to the phone. 'Just try one more time.' I told myself. I picked up the phone but then he pushed it back to the receiver. "Mei, I've only got what? An hour?..." he said looking down at his watch, " And we have to separate for a while." He gave me a kiss. Pushing away, I looked at him, he didn't seem to care that much about the fact that I'd be leaving him soon, when he flies back to his home. I heard a few muffled laughs from the room next door. Kian and Clara. She was getting to go back with Kian to Ireland by using their extra ticket, not that I was jealous or anything but still... They seemed so happy. "Lucky Clara." I mumbled to myself. "What? Did you say something?" he asked whilst attempting to untangle my fingers from the phone cord. "Oh... no. What are you talking about?" I laughed a false laugh and removed the cord from my hand as I stood up, "So, what time do you have to be at the airport by?" I asked. "Hmmm..." he started as he glanced at his watch, "Now! Oh my gosh, I have to get Kian." He cried as he bounded off the couch. I watched him stand up and leave the room. I took it to my liberty to drag his belongings out of the house and place them in the trunk of the car. ---------------------------------------------------------- I sat in gate 12, waiting for his boarding call. Kian and Clara were also there. Esther had some family business to attend, so Nicky left Hawai'i a bit earlier than the rest of us. Poor Esther, I heard her parents freaked out when they found out about the car! Bryan and Amy were up in Ireland already. I think they flew up with Nicky, but I'm not too sure. As for Shane and Vicki, well they had a little "getaway" to another island, Lana'i for a weekend vacation. They were supposedly going to take the next flight back. "I can't believe I'm leaving already! It feels like I just got here." He sighed. I squeezed his hand a bit tighter, "Well hasn't it been a nice trip at all?" I asked. "No way! I met you!" he joked. "Well I never!" I replied in some snobby funny accent. We both laughed. "Well in that case I guess you won't need any of these then." I smiled and giving him a kiss. "Mmm... well maybe. I guess it hasn't been that bad." He laughed and leaned into kiss me again, only longer this time. I felt his arms around me, and I let my fingers freely roam through his hair. When we pulled away i found myself gazing into his deep, blue eyes. "Flight 525 is now ready for boarding." A "robotic" voice interrupted our moment. "Ahhh... I guess this means I have to leave then." He sighed, "Come on you two, break it up or we'll miss our flight." He continued as he playfully whacked Kian on top of the head."Owww!" he whined, "Clara can you kiss it?" He asked in a child-like voice. We all laughed at this and I was not to surprise when Clara did indeed kiss him. By doing this though, they ended up moving from one small kiss to something that looked like "facial vacuuming". "This is the final boarding call for flight 525." *that* voice said again. "Come on you two." I laughed as we practically pulled them apart, "How are you going to survive a flight with these two?" I asked him. He looked at me and smiled, then he picked up one of Kian's bags and walked closer to the entrance of the airplane. "Well I guess this is good bye then, huh?" I said quietly. "Well it's only for two months or so and then I'll fly down to get you or something." He smiled. "Yea, that's true. But still..." I trailed off as I looked towards the floor. "But nothing." He said raising my head to his eye-level. "Well, Mei, I guess this farewell. Just remember me, remember us, remember everything we've been through. Remember me." I smiled a bit at him as he said that, "I love you." He said as he leaned in to kiss me. " Love you too" I replied mechanically in a bit of a daze. A second later I felt his lips against mine. I opened my eyes lazily and plopped on a chair to regain my composure. "What the?" I yelped as I sat on something. I picked it up. 'A letter.' I thought. It was addressed to me so I figured I should probably open it. I inspected the clean envelope with my name sloppily scribbled on the front. I opened it, letting two small pieces of paper float slowly towards the floor as I opened it. "Mark." I said quietly Chapter 16 I looked at the two small pieces of paper, and the letter that were in front of me. 'Beware!' it said. I pondered the idea but didn't understand it's meaning. "Eeeeekkkk!!!" I shrieked as I felt someone jump on my back. I looked up to see who had grabbed me. "Mark!" I squeaked as I hugged him tight. "Ooh, ouch, you're choking me, Mei." He coughed out, I loosened my grip, "Didn't you get my letter?" he asked. I was confused for a while but then I remembered. "Oh, the letter..." I bent down to pick them off the floor where I had just dropped them in my excitement. I looked closer- a letter and... "Two tickets!" I screamed, "Wait... two tickets?" I asked. "Yup two tickets to..." "IRELAND!" I interrupted, "Oh Mark how'd you... what? Why? How?" I asked. "You know Mei, there are a few advantages to being famous." He teased as he flashed a cheesy hollywood smile to me. "Woo hoo! So I'm going with you then?" I cried. "No. No, of course not, i'm taking that brunette over there." He said pointing to some fake girl sitting on a bench. I gave him a whack, and pretended to be angry. "Don't be mad. I was only joking." He said sincerly. "I know." I replied flashing an equally bright smile back, " What about my bags Mark?' i asked. "Well, let me think... did it ever occur to you that one of my 15 bags could be full of your stuff?" he laughed. I shook my head 'no'. I was shocked. So i was going on this trip after all, "When are we going then?" I asked. "NOW!" he spoke quickly as we ran through the door of the plane as they were preparing to leave. -------------------------------------------- "We're here." Mark said as he ran over to open my door, "Welcome to my home, mademoiselle." He smiled. I guess I was at home, for a while at least. It was beautiful though, kinda like how always imagined it would be like. We dragged our bags out of the taxi and payed him. "This is your house?" I asked in amazement as I practically crawled up the steps with his bags. "Yup! Do you like it? I hope you're not disappointed or anything that's it's not some rich mansion." He looked at me. "Why would I be disappointed? I think it's adorable." I replied bringing the last of the bags up onto the porch. "Shoot! The keys!" Mark sighed, as he looked inside his bags, "Not here." He mumbled running towards some flowerpot. "Here we go." He smiled removing a small, silver key from the soil.He unlocked the door and opened it. A black Labrador bounded out. "Snoopy?" i asked. He nodded "He looks just like Amber only black." I laughed. I entered the house and noticed the lights were off. "They must be out." Mark concluded as he flipped on the switch. "SURPRISE!" a chorus of people shouted, screamed, mumbled, and squealed. Our jaws dropped to the floor. "Did you know about this?" I asked, he quickly replied 'no'. I was overwhelmed as people flooded over to us and shook my hand, or kissed my cheek. "My god Mark!" What did you tell them?" I whispered. "A little. I never thought they'd make something so big about us saving each other, or anything." He whispered back whilst hugging a little girl. "Ooh, you must be Melia." A woman came over. "I'm Mark's mum. It's so great to finally meet the famous Melia, or Mei as pumpkin calls you." She smiled shaking my hand. "Muuum." Mark whined with his tomato-red cheeks. I could tell he was clearly embarrassed over what his mother had just said. "Oh hush up, Mark, or I'll tell Mei all your secrets." She smiled at him. "So I hear you're from Hawai'i. Wow, you've got to invite us over some day to meet the future in-laws, honey." She said. It was my turn to blush. "Oh sorry didn't mean to embarrass you. Oh, look it's Mary. Bye dear. Bye Mark." She said as she walked over in this Mary's direction. "Why didn't you tell me your mum was so..." "Talkative? Yea, I know." He interrupted pulling me to the side. "Ouch!" a girl squeaked. "Oh sorry, Nisa." I said quickly and walked away with Mark on my arm. "What's she doing here?" I asked. "I honestly don't know, my dear." He replied. I decided to drop her entirely from my thoughts... well almost. 'If she goes within ten feet of Mark I'm going to clobber her.' I smiled at the thought. "What are you smiling about?" a girl asked coming my way. "Clara! How did you know about this?" I questioned. "Word spreads fast in small towns." She winked. "Oh Clara, speaking of smiling I should ask you the same question, you're absolutely glowing."She blushed., "You wouldn't believe what happened to me..." she started radiating` |
