| The next week was Donna�s funeral, and so many people were there. Jenny sat in a row with Mark, she saw Kian sitting down the front with Shane. Nicky still wasn�t speaking to Kian. Kian was looking around after the service, and his eyes met with Jenny�s. Jenny turned away, she felt so awkward around him now. He started walking towards her and she signalled for him to go, she didn�t want Mark finding out about their kiss, she loved him too much to get him hurt. Just then Mark walked off to talk to Nicky who was still looking really upset. Kian approached with an uncertain look. �Jenny, I just want to apologise for what I did the other day, it was really wrong of me, especially as you�re going out with Mark, I feel really bad� Jenny looked away, she couldn�t stand him apologising, when she was the one who felt guilty. �Kian�it�s ok, I�� just then Jenny saw Mark looking over at them, and she lost her train of thought. �Kian, I have to go, sorry� Mark was quiet on the drive back to Sydney, and Jenny felt there was something wrong. Nobody was really talking except for Bryan & Lara who seemed to be really enjoying each others company. Jenny was happy they had gotten back together after spending so much time apart. Back at the hotel Mark was really moody. �Mark, please tell me what�s wrong!� �Jenny, I�ll tell you what�s wrong!� he yelled, Jenny was startled. �What�s wrong is the way Kian looks at you, the way he stares when you walk into the room, it�s driving me crazy. I know what he�s like, he gets all the girls so why should he want you too!� Jenny was startled that Mark had noticed so much, when she had barely noticed Kian until he tried to kiss her. �Mark, listen I want you to know that it�s you that I want to be with, and I know you know that!� Mark looked relieved and smiled for the first time in days. That night everyone met at a local club, Jenny was happy to be spending some time with Mark before he left for UK in 2 weeks. She didn�t want him to go, she felt like she had found someone finally who she could share anything with, and she didn�t want to let that go. Lara & Bryan were sitting at the table with Jenny, and they looked so happy, Bryan obviously couldn�t contain his secret anymore, �Everyone, I�ve got some really great news!� he said beaming at Lara. �We�re getting married and you�re all invited!� Bryan gushed. �I let her get away before, and I�m not letting it happen again!� Lara smiled. Jenny, Mark, Shane & Nicky all congratulated the happy couple, and Jenny hugged Lara. Kian got up and left the table, Jenny noticed he had been drinking heavily that evening and she felt a little worried about him, he seemed to be dealing with Donna�s death well, to the outward eye, but Jenny knew he wasn�t dealing at all. Against her better judgement Jenny followed Kian outside. She didn�t want to talk to him, because he made her feel so awkward after him trying to kiss her, but she knew he was in a lot of pain and needed some support. �Kian�� �What? Just go away!� Kian said weakly, and Jenny could see he had been crying. �Kian, why are you shutting us out, we�re here to help you, we�re your friends!� �Great friend you are! Making me feel about an inch tall!� Kian yelled. Jenny was startled at his anger. �Kian, I�m sorry Donna died, but neither of us can change that! I can�t bring back Justin either, believe me I would have tried if I could�ve� Jenny surprised herself at how much she was still grieving for her old boyfriend. But Kian was in a rage, and not making a lot of sense. �What�s so good about Mark anyway? I hate seeing the two of you together, it makes me sick! Just go away, I don�t need you, I don�t need any of you!!!� With that Kian ran to his car waiting in the carpark. �Kian, NO!� Jenny screamed, she knew he had been drinking and he was in no state to drive. She tried to pull him away from the car, but he pushed her off, and she hit the ground with a thud! Just then Mark ran out and picked Jenny up, shouting after Kian. �Mark shut up!� Jenny yelled as Mark kept yelling out angry words after Kian. Mark looked slightly hurt and defensive about being told to shut up. Jenny grabbed Mark, and said �Mark, he�s been drinking and he�s depressed right now!� Mark looked confused �But I thought he was dealing with Donna�s death ok, he�s been fine at all the interviews and everything� Jenny & Mark stared as Kian drove off down the road. �Mark we have to follow him�� Jenny & Mark jumped into the car, and Mark sped off after Kian. Kian saw that Mark & Jenny were following him so he pulled over realising the danger he was putting himself and everyone else in. He got out of the car, he looked unwell and his eyes were really red. �Kian, let us take you home� Mark offered. Kian was silent for a moment then yelled �Just get away from me!! All of you, I don�t need anyone�s help or anyone�s pity, so just leave me alone� Mark then lost his cool, �Kian, it�s obvious you do need our help, you �Maybe that�s what I wanted!!� Kian yelled and ran to get back into his car. Mark pulled him back, �No Kian, I�m not going to let you do this!� Kian relented and fell to the ground sobbing. Mark and Jenny looked at each other concerned, they had never seen him this distressed before. Then Kian stopped crying and looked at Jenny. �I think this would be a good time to tell Mark about our kiss the other day, don�t you?� his eyes were as cold as ice. Jenny was shocked that he could be so heartless, and just stared at him in disbelief. �W..what?� Mark said uncertainly. Jenny looked at Kian unable to speak, she couldn�t deny it because it was true, and Mark saw that it was written all over her face. Mark got up with a questioning look on his face, which then turned to extreme anger when he realised Jenny was not denying Kian�s accusation. �Mark�wait..please! It�s not what you think!� Jenny pleaded�but Mark was gone. Jenny watched Mark drive off sqealing the tyres as he went. Jenny had tears of anger in her eyes. She looked at Kian, unable to form words. She wanted to yell, scream, tear him apart, but she couldn�t make a sound. Kian looked up, his face was sad. �Jenny, you probably hate me now, but I can�t deny that we kissed, you�ve been driving me crazy ever since, and you know it, so if you think I�m cold, think again, you�re the coldest person I know to deny what we could�ve had� Jenny was enraged. �Kian, we NEVER had anything! You forced yourself onto me, against my wishes and now Mark thinks I�m cheating on him, he was the most special thing I ever had, I felt like my life was coming together again when we met, he means everything to me. You have to tell him the truth about the kiss, Kian, it was a one-sided kiss and you know that!� Kian got up with a stubborn look and Jenny had the horrible feeling she may have lost Mark forever. |
