| �Jenny!� it was Shane. �Hi Shane!� �Jenny are you ok? Mark�s been looking all over for you, he went by your hotel and you weren�t there. He feels terrible, he doesn�t want to lose you, Jenny� �I really need to find him I need to tell him something� Shane said �Great I know where he is� and so they found him sitting on the steps of the Opera House. Jenny approached Mark, he had his head in his hands. �Hey Mark� �Jenny, what are you�I mean�errr, um about before�.I� �Mark, I need to tell you why I couldn�t kiss you before� He was listening carefully, and his eyes looked sad, Jenny told him the whole story of Justin, every last detail, until the tears were streaming down her face, and when she finished there was a stunned silence. �Jenny, I�m so sorry�� his voice trailed off. �Mark, all I know is I don�t want to lose you, because I feel I can tell you anything, and I have no control over circumstances, and that scares me, because I can�t lose someone I love again�. I just can�t!!� Mark didn�t know what to say, there didn�t seem to be anything to say. They sat in silence for a few minutes, and then Jenny reached for his lips and kissed him passionately, she felt like a weight had been lifted. She felt that now that she had told Mark everything nothing could come between them now. Just then Mark�s mobile phone broke the silence � �Mark! , there�s been a terrible accident!!, come quick!!!!� It was Kian, they had never heard him sound so worried. �It�s Donna, she�I�oh what have I done?!� They rushed to the hospital, where Donna was in intensive care. �Kian, what happened?!?!� Nicky demanded. He looked angry and hurt seeing as Donna is his cousin and he knew they had been fighting that night. �I�it all happened so quickly� Kian stuttered, still in shock. Just then Harriet ran in screaming, �Kian I�ll kill you!!!, if you�ve laid a hand on her, that�s it you�re dead!� Nicky stepped in and hugged Harriet. Just then Shane & Helen arrived looking worried. �Kian tell us what happened�NOW!� �It was crazy� Kian began �We were having this stupid fight, it was all about nothing really, and well after dinner it got out of hand, and we were arguing so bad, that she threw a lamp at me and told me to get out! So I got into my car, and�well�she took off in her car first and she had a terrible accident�I was trying to follow her in my car, cos I knew she shouldn�t be driving she was so upset�look what I�ve done. I never meant to hurt her, How can I live with myself?� Kian broke down. Everyone was stunned, Harriet burst into tears, Helen tried to make the doctor let her in to see Donna, but he wouldn�t. Nicky left the room, he couldn�t take anymore. Shane went out to try and talk to Nicky. Jenny didn�t know what to do, all she could think of was her car accident a year ago, this all seemed to be bringing back those bad memories, Mark sensed this and hugged her. Just then the doctor came out �I�m afraid it�s not looking good for Donna, I�ll be surprised if she makes it through the night� he said grimly. Jenny looked at Mark and didn�t know what to say. Just then the other guys came in from outside and were permitted to visit Donna, Kian could barely make himself go in, he looked terrible. Just then Bryan burst in the door, looking a little worse for wear, had obviously been drinking a little. He looked really concerned. Jenny said �Hey aren�t you on a date with Christy?� �Nope, she�s not my type, I�m not ready for a relationship at the moment� �Mmmm so why are you here Bry?� said Mark slyly. Bryan blushed. �What�s going on?� Jenny asked Mark later when Bryan went for a walk around the hospital. �Well, he has a huge crush on one of the nurses here, her name is Lara Baker, she�s got shoulder length brown hair and she�s really tall they dated a bit and well she dumped him, cos he was always away on tour, but he really really likes her a lot, he can�t think of anyone else at all�. Just then Bryan returned with a cheeky grin, �I found her, and guess who�s got a date with her!!!!!� Bryan looked pretty pleased with himself. �Well, she only said yes, because I wouldn�t go away until she did, but I really thinks she likes me, well, who wouldn�t right?!� Jenny & Mark smiled to themselves. Just then Kian came out of the hospital looking pale, like he was going to throw up. He was heading for the front door. �Ki,� Mark called, �You shouldn�t be alone right now�� but Kian wasn�t listening, and in a second he was gone. Jenny awoke the next morning with her head on Mark�s shoulder, she took a while to realise she was still in the hospital waiting room. �Wake up Mark!! We�ve got to find out if Donna is ok!!� Before Jenny could get up she saw Nicky & Harriet coming towards them. She had never seen Nicky look so sad, his eyes were red and tired looking. In answer to Jenny & Mark�s questioning faces, Harriet stuttered �She�She didn�t make it � Donna�s dead� Mark leaped up to comfort Nicky. �I�m so sorry Nicky� Nicky pushed him away. Just then Shane arrived with Helen, Shane realised the news must be bad and gave Nicky some space. �It must be tough to lose your cousin� Mark whispered to Jenny. Mark could see the tears welling up in Jenny�s eyes, and realised how she must be feeling. All Jenny could think of was memories of her accident, and she started feeling sick to her stomach. Just then Bryan turned up, looking concerned, �Guys, have any of you seen Ki?!, I�ve been looking all over for him, he doesn�t know the news yet. I�m really worried about him� Mark tried his mobile phone, but there was no answer. Nicky suddenly spoke up �If it hadn�t been for him none of this would�ve happened!� he said angrily, his face full of pain. Shane said �No, Nicky that�s not the way to go, you know Kian loved her more than life itself, sure they had a few problems but who doesn�t? You can�t blame him, it�s just not fair!� And with that Shane left the room, he didn�t want to argue any more. Jenny remembered her accident, it was so much easier for her to blame others than face the cold hard truth that someone she loved wasn�t coming back. Just then Kian walked in, looking unwell. Nicky turned awayand was seething with anger. �Oh please, don�t let anything have happened to her!� Kian yelled in desperation as he looked at the others. Nobody said a word. Kian ran out of the hospital crying. Jenny ran out after him, if anyone knew the pain he was feeling it was her. Kian was sitting on the front steps of the hospital with his head in his hands. �What have I done?� he kept repeating over and over. �Kian� Jenny said but he didn�t answer. �Kian, it wasn�t your fault� Jenny said gently. Kian looked up with tears in his eyes. Jenny told him the whole story of her accident and the death of Justin. Kian listened carefully to every word. �Jenny, thank you for caring so much to tell me this, you�re the only one who understands� he said and placed his hand on her knee. Then he reached up to kiss Jenny on the lips. �Kian!! What are you doing?!� Jenny yelled. �You know what I�m doing and you know it�s right� Kian whispered. Jenny leaped up, �Kian, you know I�m with Mark, so how could this be right� and Jenny went back inside. |
