Part 9 (Bryan)
It was a few months since that day, and things had started to clear up. I had come out of auto pilot mode and me and the kids muddled through, but the band committments resurfaced. We all took time off, but now  people started to ask what was happening to westlife.  I think people maybe expected me to give up the band, and look after the kids full time, but I loved music, and I thought it  would be good to get things back to normal, well as normal as we could. then I remembered Ally's words when I had discussed taking the kids on tour, I couldn't just drop everything the second something like an interview came up. I decided I had to get a childminder to help. I phoned one of the agencies recommended by Louis, some of his other acts had used the company. I explained the situation ' a live-in position, but must be able to travel, for tours and stuff like that.' I waited a few days, then the agency called back with someone, so I told them to send the person for an interview. I didn;t know much, except the person was called Robyn. I arranged the interview for 10am one morning at the house. I expected a middle aged 'Mrs Doubtfire' look alike, very prompt. But on the day of the interview, there was still no Robyn at 1030am. Just after 1045 there was a knock at the door. I opened the door, ready to give the interviewee an earbashing about showing up on time. I was surprised to see a girl, maybe 21 or 22, standing, looking so nervous, and absolutely soaked by the pouring rain.
"Hi,  Robyn?" I asked her, she nodded quickly and I invited her in. Why was she so wet, I assumed she had a car, I had asked for someone who could drive, but it seemed as though she couldn't. She walked in and stood in the hallway. "I'll take your jacket." I offered and she took it off. I pointed to the living room, "go on in. Sit down." She walked in and sat down. I hung the jacket up to dry and walked in to the room
"I'm really sorry I was late, the train got cancelled, so I had to go for the bus, but it's quite a distance from the bus stop....."
"It's ok, you're here now." I smiled at her, it was strange, I couldn't feel angry at her at all. I looked at her, she was shaking. "Are you cold?"
"Umm, just a bit."
"Well, you're soaked through, I'll get you a dry jumper." I walked up to my bedroom, and opened the wardrobe. Without thinking, I pulled out one of Ally's jumpers and started to walk downstairs. I was halfway down when I stopped. 'Great, give your new childminder your dead wife's jumper.' I thought to myself, I looked in and saw she was shivering badly. I walked in and gave her the jumper. "You can change in the bathroom." I showed her the bathroom. I sat on the couch, first impression of Robyn, well, I liked her, and I was sure the kids would too. She came back out of the bathroom. "Thanks for the jumper.Perfect fit." She was right, a perfect fit, too perfect. "Umm, so...." "Oh, the job." She nodded, I laughed, for a second I had forgotten why she was there. "It's a live-in position, ummm, can you drive, I noticed that well you obviously didn't drive here."
"Yeah, I just can't afford a car." She laughed a little. "Well?the job....."
"It's yours, if you want." Ok, I know it took me five minutes to decide that, but it was a gut feeling. "Ok, ummm, do I get to meet the kids?" She asked, looking happy but nervous.
"Sure!" I shouted on the kids. "Dyl! Jess!" Two minutes later they appeared  at the top of the stairs, their face covered in chocolate spread. I had told them to stay clean, but they hadn't, I got a bit mad. "Guys! C'mon, can you not stay clean for 5 minutes?" I looked at Robyn as an apology for them, but noticed she was trying not to laugh, well, I suppose they did look funny, I laughed too. "Come in here and say hi to Robyn."
"Hi Robyn." They said together. "Robyn's going to stay here and be your babysitter." I explained, Jess got the puzzled look on her face again.
"Does this mean she'll be our Mummy then, 'cause we
don't have ours ?" she asked.
"No Jessica. I'm just going to help Daddy out because
he has to work sometimes." Robyn answered her.
"Oh." Jessica looked disappointed a little.
"You wanna see my room?" Dylan asked excitedly.
"Sure thing cheeky." Robyn said, "is that ok?" "Of course, I'll  show you your room after, you are taking the job?" She nodded and smiled.
"I'll bring some of my stuff around maybe tomorrow." "Yeah, that'd be great." Dylan looked impatient. "Ok, Dylan show us the way." "You can see my room later Robyn." Jess said and grabbed Robyn's hand, I could tell that we were all going to get on fine.
