Part 6 (Bryan)
1 week later
It was the day before we were due to leave for the tour, and Ally and I had spoken on the phone everyday, it was weird, it was as if we were still together, only living in different houses. We had told the rest of the group about the split and they seemed to understand, sometimes they had witnessed some of the fights. Of course they had tried to talk us out of it, but failed. That day I had an interview with the guys, and then I was going to meet Ally  and Jess in the town to get some stuff that we would need. I decided to call to check what time they wanted to meet me at. I called Ally's mobile. "Hello?" "Hey, it's me."
"Oh hi." "I was just calling to see what time you wanted to meet at today?" I said, checking my watch, I had start the interview in 5 minutes.
"Umm, well, we're just out of the park and are heading into town now." She said. I heard Jessica ask who was on the phone, "it's Daddy." "Can I talk to him, please?" "Hold on a second Bry." "Jess, wait until we've crossed the road, ok?" Suddenly Nicky came running up, "Bry! 5 minutes mate!"
I nodded. "Still here?" Ally asked. "Yeah." "OK, Jess, no cars, come on, cross over!"  Then I heard a screech, a crash, and the phone fell. "Bry! come on!"  Shane stuck his head around the corner, looking frustrated. "Hold on!"
"Ally? Ally?" Silence, I prayed to God, that what I thougt happened hadn't happened. Just then I heard a cry, it sounded like Jess, and she sounded as if she was in pain.  "Jess!!" I called into the phone. "Daddy?" She was still crying.
"What happened?" I asked her. She just kept crying. "Is Mummy ok?" I heard her shouting on Ally, but no answer.  "Daddy, I'm scared."  "I know hun." I was scared too, it seemed as though there had been some sort of accident, Jess was hurt and Ally was unconscious.
"BRY!!!in here now!" That was Shane, again. He saw my face, my tears. "What?"
"It's Ally and Jess." "Are they ok?"he asked, concerned.
"I-i don't know. I don't know what happened, I was talking on the phone and then I don't know, a car maybe....Jess is ok, but Ally..." "You know where they are?"
"Ummm," I tried to think, Ally had told me, "umm, they had just left the park." I remembered that I still had Jess on the phone. "Jess, hun, can you wake mummy?"
"My leg hurts Daddy, I'm scared." She wass till sobbing. I heard her try to wake Ally again. "Daddy, she won't wake up." "God, Shane, she can't wake her up." I said, fear growing. "Jess, is anyone there?" "No."
"I'll call an ambulance, the park, right?" Shane said, I nodded quickly and he ran to get his mobile. He reappeared a few minutes later. "They'll be there in a few minutes." I grabbed my coat, and started to run out of the door.
"Bry?" Nicky had appeared now. "Hey, you can't leave!"
Shane had ran after me. "I'll call later Nicky, you'll have to do this without us, ok?" And Shane left, leaving a very confused Nicky. We drove as fast as we could, to the park to find out exactly what had happened. Shane decided to drive, as I was a nervous wreck, I didn't know what I was going to find. We pulled in as we saw an ambulance with it's flashing lights. I ran out of the car, and ran over.
"Please move along, nothing to see." A policeman said to me and Shane. "That's my wife and daughter!" I cried, and ran over. "Oh my god!" I whispered.
I looked over, Ally was still lying on the road, surrounded by two paramedics, while Jess was already sitting on a stretcher in the ambulance, with dressings on her knee, elbow and a cut to her head.
"Daddy!" She was still sobbing. "Look." She pointed to her knee.
"Does it hurt?" I asked her, sitting down beside her. She nodded her little head, and I gave her a hug.
"Has mummy got a sore leg too?" She asked, innocently.
I couldn't answer her, from what I had seen, Ally was way worse than what Jess was. "I don't know hun." A few minutes later the doctors took away the stretcher that we had been sitting on, and after a few more minutes brought it back in with Ally on it. She looked so sick, and the paramedic didn't look too hopeful. I had to turn Jessica away so that she wouldn't see, but she managed to see anyway.
She let out a gasp. " is mummy sleeping?" I couldn't speak, just hugged her tighter and sobbed. "Bry, I'll meet you at the hospital." That was Shane. I nodded, and he ran towards the car and the ambulance doors closed as we set off for the hospital, as fast as we could go. The trip seemed to take ages, my mind was in limbo, was I going to lose her?
The ambulance pulled up with  a screech and they rushed Ally inside, while I lifted Jess and carried her inside, trying not to hurt her more. We were met by a doctor who was going to look at Jess while they took Ally into a different room.  I went with Jessica as she was terrified. We sat there for a while, the doctor gave her stitches and cleaned the cuts. She called me over to the side of the room after Jessica had calmed down and had almost fallen asleep.
"How is she?" I asked, as we both watched her. "She's ok, cuts and bruises, she was lucky, but I think we should keep her in overnight, that's a nasty head injury there."
"Yeah, it looks sore." I said. "She's going to be ok, right?"
"Yeah, just a precaution."
"Oh ok."  "I'll leave you two here." She said and went to walk out. "Would you like me to find out how anyone else is?" "Yeah, my wife, Ally."
"Sure. I'll be back in a minute." She smiled sympathetically. A few minutes later, someone walked in, it was Shane. "Hey, how is she?"  He asked, as he walked over beside me.
"She's got a sore leg and arm, just cuts mostly, but they want to keep her in for the head injury. She's sleeping." She stirred a little. "Poor little thing." He sighed, "and.." He seemed scared to ask how Ally was. "Umm, how's Ally?"
I broke down, "God, Shane, she looked so sick, what if I lose her?" "You won't." He said, knowing as well as I did, that there was every chance we could lose her.
We sat in silence, until the doctor walked back in. I looked up. "How is she?" "Your wife's in surgery just now. Internal injuries."  "Is she going to be ok?" Shane asked, I just sat there, taking it all in.
"We can't say at the moment, but it will be a few hours yet." It was too much, I walked out and sat in the corridor. Music was playing quietly from somewhere. I recognised the song, ally played it all the time, if she felt sad. 'Greenday - Time of Your Life'. I sat there, Shane came out after a while. "Jess is sleeping, I think she'll be ok for now. Will I call the others, I think that interview will be finished, they're probably wondering."
"Umm, ok." Just then a doctor came out, Shane and I just froze.
"Mr Mcfadden?" I stood up, "hi, Dr Griffiths."he introduced himself.
I tried to find my voice, it was shaky, "how is she? Is she out of surgery?"
"Could we go in here? It's more private." He pointed to a darkened room. "Shane, can you come in too?" He nodded and follwed us in.
"Sit down, please." Nervously I sat down. The doctor sighed heavily."I'm very sorry...." The voice faded out, and I never heard, I suppose I'd known before we even got to the hospital, I had lost her.
