1999 december 10christmas party #1the new company had their christmas party tonight. it was a lowkey event, very casual and held at one of the employees houses. i was afraid it would be a bit of a crush, but i found out either he or his wife must come from some sort of old money because they live in a mansion. that's not an exaggeration either, it is built on three levels and it took us at least half an hour for the tour. hallways loop up and around and down stairs and back up ramps and each and every room was huge and full of expensive furniture. i had a terrible case of house envy; my entire condo would have fit into the entertainment room where we had the party. each employee received an envelope with a crisp $100 bill inside. it was a lovely surprise, especially since i am not a real employee yet, i just play one tuesday and thursday afternoons. i knew i was going to like working there. feeling richer in oh so many ways, claire
