o christmas tree

we cut down our tiny little tree today.

as usual, we went with jerry, joy and star; we all played hooky from work and school to avoid the rush and just because it seemed like the thing to do this year. j&j recently bought a gigantic new house and for the first time in years, joy wasn't going to have to live with a small tree.

the theme of the day was the bigger the better.

the tree she finally decided upon was somewhere between ten and twelve feet in length, and four and five thousand pounds in weight. no, really! i should know having had to help drag the monstrosity to the baling station. i have no idea how she is going to decorate the thing but she is ecstatically happy so all is well in christmas town.

gene and i settled for something in the three or four foot range, to put on one of the extra coffee tables. it is a beautiful shape and though small, it will be gorgeous when i am done with it.
