the moral of the story

we've been having the most wondrous autumn storms.

i've spent entirely too many minutes when i should have been productive at the office, instead watching the trees sway back and forth in the wind. and the leaves! they have been riding the wild air such that they swirl in front of my fourteenth floor window. how can a girl be expected to work when there are leaves in the air?

and how is a girl supposed to work when the power keeps going off? it was off and then on again at least ten times yesterday. it was good fun after the first excruciating outage, the one where everybody in the office lost work because we weren't expecting it. after that it was back to save early, save often, don't work on anything really delicate and important because you know it is going to happen again. and it did. and it did. and it did again and again.

i had a few nervous moments when i thought i would get stuck on the elevator as i was leaving the building, but everything worked out and i went home and we played the power outage game there as well.

which is why there wasn't an entry for yesterday until a few hours ago. and it isn't much of an entry.

a small break in the action

i've been having the most incredibly detailed and plotted dreams of late.

of course, i cannot recall most of these details past midmorning, but i still remember bits and pieces. last night's dream involved a number of weddings, a ritual involving flowers and petals that must be thrown at people from over a fence, a hungry baby [mine], and a dashing dark haired man. oh, and a moral:

what he takes twice, he shall return twentyfold.

i've never had a dream with a moral before.

sweet dreams are made of these, claire
