1999 october 11diversionsyesterday was catch up and clean up day. cleaned: the kitchen drawers. there is now one for foil, plastic wrap and bags and other things that come in a long narrow cardboard boxes. there is one for odd shaped kitchen utensils. one for smallish appliances. and two for whatever happens to fall into them; didn't expect me to become perfect overnight, did you? cleaned: the laundry. all of it--the handwashables, the area rugs, the sheets and towels. all of it. and half of it is already folded. all the dishtowels are rolled, a chore i find absolutely unbearable most days for some reason.
cleaned: the lower kitchen cabinets. i rid myself of an assortment of tupperware and tupperware wannabes that had lost their tops or bottoms, plastic cups i hadn't had a drink from in years, the eight ice cube trays that will never see the dark of the freezer, two small thermoses, and some strange microwave cake pans/jello molds [i can't really tell, nor remember, what they were originally for]. cleaned: one closet. i filled three garbage bags with clothes to give to the goodwill. i still have too many clothes.
after all that work, a girl deserves some diversions. in claire's world, that means books and music. updated: the books i've read since august.
bless me, ultima rudolfo a anaya
