1999 august 24a catfood miraclexoom would not let me ftp yesterday. it was a small annoyance in a string of annoyances that threaten to make up this entire week: an all day company meeting on monday, today full of phone calls and last minute revisions to the fourth set of revisions a client has sent for a project set to go live tomorrow, an emergency i-team meeting set for 3pm [i usually leave the office at 230pm these days after getting in at 630am] that lasted until 515pm sending me home in a blaze of traffic, another all day meeting scheduled for tomorrow where i must make nicenice with an outside consulting group that is trying to take away the only fun part left to my job. excuse me while i go retch in the corner.
what with all the excitement at the office these days, i have somewhat neglected my home duties. in particular, i keep forgetting to buy dry catfood for peter parker. in the mornings he gets canned food, but when i get home at night, he prefers a light supper of the crunchy stuff. about two weeks ago i looked in the bag and saw it was getting extremely low. i dished him up a cupful and made a metal note to buy some more the next day. this has gone on for at least fourteen days now; the bag never becomes completely empty. it's like that miracle of the jews and the oil lamps--they had but enough for one day and yet their lamps stayed lit for eight. at least i think it was eight. in any event, i've done them better--one day of food has stretched to fourteen with no end in sight. i don't know whether to call the vatican, or my local synagogue. meow, claire
