refreshed

so, we're back and we had a wonderful weekend.

we went to the zoo and saw lions and tigers and bears, but no oh my.

we went to the water and walked in the hot soft sand and ran away from the encroaching tide and stomped on that seaweed with the little bubble bladder things, just to hear the satisfying !pop! as we squished them while giggling and singing the godzilla song.

we saw some incredible rose gardens, places so full of color and scent i just wanted to lie in the middle of it all and sleep what most assuredly would have been shakespearean dreams. i don't know what exactly shakespearean dreams might be, but i'm sure they can be induced by an excess of roses.

we drove highways, few, and byways, many, and discovered new roads and new grotesquely expensive housing developments and a new grocery store that sold a wonderful cross between a peach and a nectarine that was so juicy i stained not only my tshirt but gene's and he was sitting three feet away.

all missions accomplished. all bodies worn out, but in a really good way, all brains rested and ready for another week, all stomachs still full from the wonderful food we ate for whatever you call that meal that is too late to be lunch [we could never get organized enough to find ourselves near a restaurant at lunch time] and dinner [but we were always too hungry to wait for a full meal until proper dinner time].

who says mondays suck? claire
