cryptic notes

i am constantly finding cryptic notes i have written to myself.

normally i can rummage around in the corners of my brain and get a glimmer of what i was trying to remember but every once in a while, the meaning escapes me. for some reason, this particular note, on 7th avenue by lisa, is driving me up the wall. at first i thought it must be a book, so i checked the library and amazon.com but nothing. then i checked cdnow, thinking maybe it was a recording. nope.

i'm left thinking is must have been a scrap of conversation i overheard and i was enchanted with the idea of lisa being a landmark. now there's a career i could get into: landmark. i'd stand statuesquely near the middle of a block, maybe even 7th avenue, a beacon to weary and lost travellers. "oh look," they'd say, "there's claire, we must be close."

i'd feel so altruistic.
