Born
in England and raised in Alberta, Canada, Callum Keith Rennie came late
to acting -- he discovered theater in Edmonton at the age of 25. Originally
he wanted to be a mountaineer. Rennie was the first actor offered
the role of Alex Krycek on "The X Files" but he turned it down because
he didn't want to commit to a regular series role at the time. He
suggested fellow Canadian Nicholas Lea for the role. The glasses
Callum Keith Rennie wears in Double Happiness are his own as his eye was
injured in a barfight. He owns a Bull Terrier named Alberta and has
a tatto on his right upper arm of the Champion Spark Logo. This is a homage
to American painter Stuart Davis.
He
has had starring roles on the tv series "Due South" and "My Life As A Dog"
as well as a recurring guest role on "Twitch City". His notable
tv guest appearances include shows such as "Foolish Heart", "Strange World",
"La Femme Nikita", "Highlander", "The Outer Limits", "The X Files", "Forever
Knight", "The Commish", and "Lonesome Dove: The Series" among others.
