| Acceptance and Awareness Week |

| In April, LGSA hosts the CKM Acceptance and Awareness Week. This year, it is going to be from April 16-20th, 2007. During this week, we are planning to pass out ribbons, have many guest speakers, host the Day of Silence, have a march to the capital, and of course the 3rd Annual GSA Dance. |

| Day of Silence is a national youth protest where those who are support making anti-LGBT bias unacceptable in schools, take a day-long vow of silence to recognize and protest the discrimination and harassment, in effect, the silencing, experienced by LGBT students and thier allies. This year it is going to be on April 18th, 2007. LGSA hands out ribbons to all that are supportive and encourage everyone to participate. |

| Ally Week is for all those LGBT Allies (a straight person who supports LGBT peoples) and how important they are in providing a safe environment for everyone. in schools. It will be the first of it's kind held October 16-20, 2006. LGSA will table and promote Ally Week with stickers, posters, and our weekly meeting dedicated to LGBT Allies. There will also be a petition for anyone in support to sign. |
