| Since the Foot and Mouth, I haven't been riding my Yz much so I've been training hard to compensate for it. My training at the weekends has been riding my trials mountain bike. I can now do a lot of stuff on it, and me and some of my mates have been making cainin' sections on some rocks nearby. It keeps me fit, because in mountain bike trials you're always moving and hopping the bike about, my balance has also improved a lot. I went to Bike 2001, the mountain bike version of the dirt bike show. I met all my favourite trials riders and had a really good day out. I've managed to team up with Mervyn Anstie again so I've been riding my Yz at his track and he's been helping me sharpen up my techniques. I've also been helping him out with his training schools (the best I've been to) and he's been letting me use his super-x track. I finally managed to get my leg over the tank for a Can-Can as well. Thats all I've been up to since Foot and Mouth. Hope you all had a good Easter. Carl If you would like to get some ridin' in and learn more bike skills, Mervyn Anstie does a tingin' training school. | Hey all, how's it goin'? The ACU have finally lifted the ban ! So we should be racing again soon. I have a meeting this Monday (07/05/01) and I'm hoping to be coming away with a top 3 result. I also have a meeting at Canada Heights on 27/05/01 which I'm looking forward to, because I haven't riden there since I was on a 60cc, boy, thats a really long time! Dan from Target Aquired is trying to sort some races out in Germany near him, hopefully I'll be able to hook up with him for the first time, seeing as though he lives in Germany. My mechanic has put new Ray Hockey Racing graphics on my bike along with Renthal half waffle medium compound grips, my favourite! The council of Steventon (where I spend most of my time in the holidays) have asked me to design a Mountain bike trials course for them. Maybe now we can ride without getting moaned at by passers by! I have also learnt to do 180' bunny hops. Last weekend I went to Mervyns' practice track again where he's built a pukka rythem section. Thats all for now, I'll let you now how I got on on Monday, hope you all have a good Bank Holiday. Carl |
