What a postpartum doula does changes as the needs of each family are different. Postpartum doulas do whatever a family needs to best enjoy and care for the new baby. Postpartum Doula's act as a resource. They share information about baby care with parents, as well as making the rest of the family comfortable with the new child. They assist with breastfeeding education.  Post-partum doulas also make sure the mother is well taken care of.
What is a Postpartum Doula?
My own beliefs about the birth of a new soul is that there is not only a child being born into this world, but an entire family.  The experience will be remembered forever.
I feel that my job as a Doula is to inform and share knowledge, to help you find your voice and stand by you in whatever decision you make.  I provide continuous care throughout your labor, help to facsilitate family bonding immediately after the birth, give extra support in the postpartum period, and help the whole family with the transition into their new roles as a mother, father, and older sibling.
