Well June 24th was my birthday and it was indeed a great day. After a long week of struggling with the attacks of the enemy (and I must admit - giving in to them somewhat), I wasn't really looking forward to my birthday on the Saturday. However, I was woken early in the morning and the Holy Spirit asked me to go for a walk with Him. Now when this has happened in the past, I have taken my bible and notebook because I have expected to get some kind of revelation about something in scripture. However this time I was told to take only my key to get back into the house.
I was walking in the park and as I was walking and talking with my Lord, I looked at the ground and there was $20 just sitting there. There was no-one near me who could have dropped it and the Holy Spirit just said, "Happy Birthday Cameron!" Talk about a great way to start the day. I didn't ask for a gift from God for my birthday but as we all know, our heavenly Father loves to bless his kids with good gifts.
That and many other things made my birthday such an amazing time and a day when I could just spend time with God at the beautiful Cottesloe Beach here in Perth. One thing that I learnt from my birthday is that God loves to lavish us with gifts. We should walk in expectation of blessing from our heavenly Father - he is the best Dad anyone can have.
