About
the Artist
Carol
was born in Williamstown a small suburban college town in Massachusetts.
She was interested in art from the time she was a child. She remembers watching her Mom paint their windows with water color at Christmas time, and how beautiful they were. Needless to say she gets her talent from her mom.
Her dad was very
talented as well. He played banjo and piano by ear. Carol is very proud of the fact that both of
her parents served in the armed forces during WWII Her Mom served
in the coast guard and her Dad was a Navy man in both WWII and the Korean
war. Her sense of patriotism is very very strong.
One of
her fondest memories of her Dad was at 9 years old. He taught her to play a few
cords from the Tennessee Waltz on the piano. Although Carol has
always had an interested in music her natural talent lies in her
art.
Carol lost her Dad at the age of 11, this was a very frightening time for her and her family, but her Mom pulled them together with all her strength and provided for her and her brothers the best she could.
Although her parents could not afford to give her or her brothers Fred and Michael a college education, she has always held the philosophy that education is most important, and her parents instilled in her to always hold your head up high no matter what might happen in life. This is why she has continued her own studies in any way possible.
She is mostly
self educated in the field of art, with only a short period of professional instruction in oil painting.
Carol's graphic schooling is through McFatter Tech Institute. She holds a certificate in computer graphics, and received a certificate in web design from Sheridan Technical Institute.
