HOME
    The Andover Public Schools have embraced a balanced approach to language arts instruction.   Although the language arts program will still be anchored by the Macmillan Reading Program, a balanced approach will incorporate independent reading and the sharing of that reading, teacher read-alouds, guided reading through small group instruction to enhance comprehension and reading ability, and specific word study activities.  Students will also engage in literature circles in which they will have the opportunity to read and discuss books with their peers in small groups.
