The Test: Will You Stay
They had spent the day putting up a tent and organizing food.  But that night Aeryn woke up feeling warm and safe.  Like the world outside couldnt hurt her, then she noticed that Crichton had his arms around her body.  She knew if she moved it would wake him up so she just stayed there enjoying the warm feeling.  Not long after she had fallen asleep Crichton too woke up.  He knew if Aeryn woke up, she would make an excuse of how this happen so he just laid there.  She had pulled her hair back in a ponytail, but a few stains had fallen out.  She looked so peaceful and calm like nothing could bother her.  He liked her this way, with all her Peacekeeper walls down, when she was just being Aeryn.

Crichton had woken up before and took the chance to cook some food.  He started to make some coffee and thanked god her was in boy scouts.  Aeryn woke up to a pleasant smell that she had smelled before.  She waked out of the tent and saw Crichton fully dressed for a day of fun.  He had on a pair of lose jeans with a black t-shirt.  She noticed that he had the same pair of shoes on.

Good morning sunshine, Crichton said.

Good morning, Aeryn said.

After breakfast youll have to get dressed and we can go and explore, Crichton said.

Ok, Aeryn said taking a plat of food.

She ate the food and was surprised to find that it tasted it good.  Her hair was still a mess form sleeping.  After she finished Crichton took the dished and started to clean up while she went to get ready.  She come out of the in tan pair of shorts, a navy colored spaghetti strapped shirt that came a little below her belly button and she had pull her hair back in a lose ponytail.  She was ready for what ever Crichton had planed for them today.  Crichton smiled when he saw her come out of the tent.

You look great, Crichton said.

Thankswould I fit in on Earth, Aeryn said.

Yeayou would fit in just fine, Crichton said.

They began walking around.  It guided her to the playground and started to play on the equipment.

Come on Aeryn, Crichton said.

She walked up to him as he got on a swing.  She looked at him and he a smile that could say a thousand words.

How does this work, Aeryn asked.

You sit in it, then someone will push you and swing your legs to go fastersit, Crichton said.

She did as he requested and put her hand on the chain.  She had a very strange feeling about this. She looked around the place there were many things she had never seen before.

Crichton what that, Aeryn said.

A Slide, Crichton said.

Is it fun, Aeryn asked.

Yea, I used to go down backwards, Crichton said.

He got up and went behind her and started to push her.  She was a little startled but not that much.  She did as he said and kicked her legs and found out it worked.

Aeryn dont let go, you have to keep a hole of the chains, Crichton said.

OkI understand, Aeryn said trying to hold a smile back.

She had to admit it was fun.  The harder she kicked the fast and higher she went.  She could see farther as she up.  She watched Crichton as he went down the slide.  It was kind of funny watching him go down it, especially since he told that parks were made for children, but he was a child at heart.  She had stopped swinging and was twisting the swing around and then letting go.  It gave her a dizzy feeling that was kind of cool, but made you stomach queasy.  Crichton came up to the swing and stood in front of here, he grabbed the chains.  Their eyes met and no words were said, but he knew she was having fun.

Lets go on one of the trails, Crichton said.

No, I say we save that for tomorrowtoday lets just walk around see what the place looks like, Aeryn said.

Ok, Crichton said moving to let her get up.

Wait a microt, Aeryn said getting up.

Whatwhat wrong, Crichton said.

Nothing just a little dizzy, Aeryn said smiling.

They began to walk around not going anywhere special.  They found there way back to the campsite.  That when Crichton noted they must have been at the park longer than they thought.  The sun was now in the middle of the sky and he was starving.  He knew it must be close to dark and he wondered how they were going to pass the rest of their time.  Time must go fast down here unlike earth.  As he thought about to do the image of Aeryn crying came to his head and he knew.  He would talk to her.  He started to cook their supper he knew that they only had time to do a few things before the day started to fade away. He started to get worried, they had not been tested yet, and he wondered how long they would be down here.  They ate in silence, and Aeryn went for a walk on her own while he pondered ideas for the coming day.  He knew they still had another hour or so of light left and wanted to do something.  He went to look for her and found her at the park again in the swing.  Her feet were on the ground and she lightly moving.  Her head was tilted and her eyes were closed.  The sun put light tints of auburn highlight through her hair.  He couldnt help but stare at her.  He wanted so much to be a part of her life, to be someone special to her.

Aeryn are you Ok, Crichton asked coming up to her.

Yes, I just this swing, Aeryn said.

I can see that, when I was a kid I could do this for arns, Crichton said.

Well you did today.  You used everything more than once or twice.  You looked like you had fun Crichtonwhile I stayed here since I dont know any of this equipment, Aeryn said.

So let me show youthe firemens pole, Crichton said.

She followed him to a metal pole that was about 11 to 12 feet high.  She followed Crichton who was going under a bridge and climbing over other things.

Now you slide down, Crichton said as he did it and Aeryn slid down as Crichton watched her.

That was strange, Aeryn said.

Yes it is, Crichton said taking her hand to drag her to something else.

Aeryn changed in to her gray sweat pants and black tang top with her wet hair down.  Crichton came in the tent wearing black sweat pants and a gray tang top.  His hair was unusually messy and wet it was clear he had taken a shower like she did.  She was sitting up with her knees to her chest just thinking.

Aeryn what is wrong, Crichton said softly.

Nothing, Aeryn said.

Dont give me thatfor almost 3 to 4 solar days youve been sad, Ive caught you crying yesterday before we lefttell me, Crichton said.

Leave it alone Crichton, Aeryn said forceful.

Why do you do that, Crichton asked.

Do what, Aeryn said lying down far away from him.

Push me awayAeryn I care about you and hurts me to see you hurtIm here if you need me, Crichton said.

Half of an arns had past until she decided to tell him what was wrong.

Crichton, Aeryn said.

Hmmm, Crichton said.

Are you asleep, Aeryn said.

Not if Im talking to you, Crichton said.

Im scared, Aeryn said sitting up.

Excuse me, Crichton said turning on a light.

These feelings I haveIm scared of what they are doing to me, Aeryn said.

What feeling, Crichton asked sitting up.

I dont knowall I know is thatIm confused, Aeryn said.

He lied back down to think what he should say.  He knew this was new territory for her, but she was confessing something he didnt know what.  She put her legs on both side of his body and looked down at him.  This movement startled him, and she could see that as she looked in the eye.

II feel the same I just was so scared youd reject me, Aeryn said.

Aeryn I would never and could never hurt you, Crichton said touching her face.

I know, but last night for the first time in weekens I slept all night long and it was because of you.  I was so scared that Id become dependent on you that I never realizedI already was, Aeryn said.

Crichton sat up and she moved back a little but still stayed on top of him.  He looked straight in her eyes.  The way he and Aeryn spoke to one another was nothing like the way he Alex did.  Alex always had to be told the way he felt, she never could just look at him and know, but Aeryn knew by the way he looked at her or when he touched her that he loved her.  He moved his hand to her face and through her hair.  He then moved his hand down her back until it reached the hem of her shirt. He then turned her over so he was on top of her.  His face went only inches away from her.  His hand went inside of her shirt to her stomach where it didnt until he knew that it was Ok with her.  He looked her in the eyes and saw that it was ok with her trailed his hand up and down side.  Her lips met his and she pulled him in for a kiss.  He welcomed her.  She then turned him over and put her hands in side of his shirt.  She put her hands in the same place as Crichton did and moved them up to his chest.  She than slipped his shirt over his head and put it aside.  He than turned her over and kissed her, letting his tongue explore her mouth. His hands with under her shirt again and she lost her self in his touch.  He didnt know what the morning would bring, but he would enjoy the time they would have together.

Aeryn are you sure Crichton said started to say.
Crichton shut up, Aeryn said as she kissed him again.

He was happy to listen to her command him at least this time.

That morning Aeryn woke up and Crichton was still wrapped around her body.  She turned over to see his face, she was happy this didnt wake him.  She smiled at him.  When he was asleep he looked so peaceful and calm.  Like nothing was wrong like the peacekeeper and Scorpius didnt exist.  She ran her fingers through his hair this caused him to wake up.  He stared at her and smile went across his face.  This caused her to smile.

Morning babe, Crichton said.

Good morning Crichton, Aeryn said.

He kissed her and she returned the kiss by slipping her tongue in his mouth and putting her arms around his neck.  He wrapped his arms the rest of the way around her and pulled her to him.  Crichton ended the kiss and just looked at her, part of him thought what happen to him was a dream, but he knew it was not.  But he couldnt get rid of the bad feeling he had.  She put her hand on his face,

What wrong, Aeryn asked.

You still want to be with me, Crichton said.

Crichton I know Ive hurt you in the past so Ill understand if you don want to be with me Aeryn said.

I want to it just you cant change your mind, Crichton said.

I wont, Aeryn said giving him another kiss.

We should get up, Crichton said between kisses.

Why, Im having fun right here, Aeryn said.

Yea, but they could come any minute, Crichton said.

Fine, but remember youre the one who wanted to get up, Aeryn said.

I know and its killing me, Crichton said.

Aeryn was finishing getting dressed when she hurt Crichton scream.  She ran out to find Crichton on the ground.  She ran over to him,

Crichton, Aeryn said.

AerynII love you, Crichton said.

What, Aeryn said holding his face.

I dont think Im going to make it this timeso I have to tell you, Crichton said.

Crichton you will not die on me you me, Aeryn said.

Aeryn, Crichton said.

No Crichton you will live you will live because I love you too, Aeryn said.

Crichton brought her down for one last kiss.  She broke the kiss and looked at him.  He had become paler and she could see that he was still losing blood.  With no one to help she just held him, putting pressure on the wound, but death claimed him fast.  Tears came down her face and she couldnt move, she couldnt live him.

I love you John, Aeryn said.

The test is finished, a woman said.

The testyou mean killing him was the test, Aeryn said getting her emotions under control.

No you will see soon, a man said as Aeryn felt something pinch her neck.

Aeryn woke in her bed on Moya.  She quickly got dressed and went to find out what happen.  She found everyone in command looking down at the planet, and there was no sign of Crichton.

Aeryn youre awake goodwhere is Crichton, Zhaan said.

Tears once again filled her eyes as she thought about him.  She was hoping that it all was a bad dream and she would wake up, but she knew at this moment it was not.

Theythey killed him, Aeryn said.
How, Dargo said.
I dont knowI was getting dressed and I heard him yell and I ran outhe was on the ground there was a lot of blood and I couldnt stop itthen the alien appeared and I woke up here, Aeryn said more tear falling.
How are you, Zhaan asked.
I lost himI lost the one person who I loveit hurts so much, Aeryn said breaking down.

Dargo came and gave her a hug and tried to comfort her.  Chiana and Rygel just stood in shock, Aeryn just cried, Zhaan could only say a pray, while Pilot and Moya were quiet.  The crew of Moya was in both shock and morning for the loss of their crewmate.  John Robert Crichton as died and there was nothing they could do.
