Summary: Sam defends Jack anti-Christmas mood to a few women in the locker room.

�Why any women would put up with that is beyond me,� Kara said.
�Like this Christmas party I heard he refused to go,� Brandi said.
�He�s so unemotional,� Kara said.
They went on and on about him and what they heard. Jack was angry but he couldn�t help but smile. They mentioned how almost every woman on base wanted him. They started talking about how he needed to get over his past and look onto the future. He then heard a locket door slam shut as if in anger.
�Why don�t you two shut up, you don�t know Jack,� Sam said.
�Captain we didn�t mean any disrespect about him as an officer,� Kara said.
�So because he still loves his ex-wife and son that makes him a bad person,� Sam said.
�No but it�s almost been three years,� Brandi said.
�Tell me do either of you have children,� Sam asked.
�Yes,� they said together.
�How do you think you would feel around this time a year if they had died,� Sam said.
�Captain we were,� Kara said weakly.
�You were going to shut up get out of here because you don�t know the first thing about him,� Sam said.
When he heard her pick up her stuff he started to rush down the hall not wanting her to know he was there. Once around the corner he started to walk towards the locker room again. Sam walked out a hurt expression her face he smiled at her.
�Carter,� Jack said.
�Sir,� Sam said.
�Going to the Christmas party,� Jack said as Kara and Brandi came out.
�Yes and you,� Sam said.
�Wouldn�t miss it�Sergeant Lieutenant,� Jack said walking.
�Sir,� they said in shock as Sam walked off.
The look in Sam�s eyes hurt him more then he wished it did. The look was one he had seen before he had it in is eyes when Charlie died. On his way off of base he walked by her office to see that no one was there. She must have went home early.
�Come on Sam,� Janet said lifting up the dress.
�It�s just not me,� Sam said smiling.
�So Daniel what do you think pant outfit or blue dress,� Janet asked.
�Blue dress,� Daniel said.
�See,� Janet said.
Sam could see this was a no win situation so she took the blue dress from Janet. Daniel smiled then they left her house going for some more last minute shopping. She was glad they found their friendship they both needed it so much. Daniel was still in love with his wife and Janet didn�t need that right now.
�Danny,� Jack said.
�Hi Jack,� Daniel said.
�So I hear you have a date tonight,� Jack said.
�Janet and I came together as friends,� Daniel said.
Jack smiled as Daniel walked off to Janet side as she was talking to a young nurse. Jack went over to the punch bowl making sure Kara and Brandi saw him. Daniel walked over to Janet who started laughing when he made it to her she pulled him out on to the dance floor
�I would have come if you asked,� Daniel said.
�This is incase Jack or Sam come around�have you heard the latest gossip,� Janet said.
�No,� Daniel said.
�People are saying Sam told off two women defending Jack,� Janet said.
�Yes they were saying some not so nice things about him,� Daniel said.
�People are talking saying there something more then Colonel-Captain relationship,� Janet said.
�We�ve been saying that all along,� Daniel said.
Jack was explaining fishing to Teal�c when Sam walked in. The blue dress she wore was thin material and clung to her skin. It was knee length with short sleeves and semi low neck line. It seemed to move as she moved and Jack found himself staring at her.
�Colonel Teal�c,� Sam greeted.
�Captain Carter you look very lovely this evening,� Teal�c said.
�Thank you Teal�c,� Sam said.
�Uh yea blue is your color,� Jack said.
�Thanks Janet and Daniel gave it to me as an early Christmas gift. Where are they anyway,� Sam said smiling.
�They�re still dancing,� Jack said.
�Dancing,� Sam questioned.
�Yep, they�ve danced the last three songs,� Jack said.
�You know if Sha�uri doesn�t make it I think Daniel will find love again,� Sam said.
�I�m sure about it,� Jack said.
The night went on but no one seemed to be asking Sam to dance. Even Simmons who was said to be totally in love with her hadn�t asked her. Jack knew it was because of his shyness he couldn�t even bring himself to say hi to her this evening. Daniel and Janet knew it was because Jack was standing next to her.
�You know I�m kind of tired I think I�m going to call it a night,� Sam said.
�How about one dance before you go,� Jack asked knowing she would say no.
�Rain check I�m not feeling so hot,� Sam said sadly.
�Just know I�m going to call it in,� Jack said smiling.
�Goodnight Sir,� Sam said smiling.
Once home Sam kicked off her shoe changed into a pair of boxers and tang top. Sitting comfortably on her couch she hugged her self letting her emotions play over her. No one knew why she didn�t like Christmas not even her father she didn�t want him to know. Every time she thought about it, it pained her heart so much. She jumped then wiped her eyes as she heard a knock on the door.
�Sir,� Sam said.
�Hey Carter Janet said you forgot this and asked that I drop it off,� Jack said a small package.
�Um you didn�t have to leave the party, sir,� Sam said.
�I�m not much of a Christmas party person,� Jack said noticing her eyes.
�Know the feeling, Christmas hadn�t been a good holiday for a long time now,� Sam said.
�Sam if you ever need a friend I�m here,� Jack said.
�Would you like to come in,� Sam said smiling slightly.
�Love too,� Jack said smiling.
He slipped his shoes off as he walked in not wanting to drag snow all over. She went into the kitchen getting him a cup of coffee, surprising him by knowing how he liked it. She then took a seat on the opposite side of the couch she was pressing her knees to her chest.
�So gonna tell me why you�re depressed, crying, and hate Christmas,� Jack said.
�I don�t hate Christmas I hate the season and I hate the 23rd,� Sam said.
�Today�s date,� Jack said.
�Know one knows except Jonas not even my family,� Sam said.
�Knows what,� Jack asked concerned.
�I was so happy so was he we were going to be married a baby seemed right,� Sam said.
�You have a child,� Jack asked.
�No Jonas hit me to hard one time and I fell on my stomach I lost it on the 23rd of December,� Sam said.
�Oh Sam I�m so sorry,� Jack said.
Sam tried to hold it in tried to be the brave soldier. Jack moved closer to her and hugged her close as the tears started to fall. This day was a terrible reminder of what she had and what was taken from her. Jonas, why didn�t she leave Jonas then? She pulled away somewhat embarrassed by this.
�So no one knew besides Jonas,� Jack said.
�Yes,� Sam said.
�At least you didn�t go through it alone,� Jack said.
�You don�t understand that kind of pain,� Sam said.
�Of losing a child,� Jack said harshly.
�No of having a living being you made in you one day then the next its dead,� Sam said as harshly.
�I�m sorry,� Jack began.
�No it�s just hard to remember I did go through it alone, Jonas pretended I never got pregnant,� Sam said.
�Where was he while you were in the hospital,� Jack asked.
�Requested a mission, and no knew I pregnant yet I never told them�I couldn�t tell them,� Sam said.
�So you were alone for the whole thing,� Jack said.
Sam leaned forward resting her head on his shoulder. Jack shifted his body so he could wrap his arms around her. Sam settled in the embrace forgetting all about who he was. Sam found her self resting against his chest her head under his chin listening to heartbeat.
�You know Captain you owe me a dance,� Jack said.
�I do, but there no music,� Sam said.
�So who needs music,� Jack said getting up.
�Fine but you owe me a real dance with music,� Sam said.
He extended his hand out to her and she took it. She wrapped her arms around his neck while he wrapped his around her waist pulling her closer. They moved back and forth while Jack couldn�t take his eyes away from hers. He leaned forward placing his lips on hers for a gentle kiss. Before Sam could return the kiss Jack pulled away and moved out of their embrace.
�I�m sorry I shouldn�t have done that,� Jack said moving towards the door.
Sam grabbed his arm turning him around she pulled him towards her. Capturing his lips in a passionate mind-blowing kiss. His mouth opened to hers without hesitation. Her tongue plunged into his mouth but was pushed back by his. Soon they parted Sam taking a step back looking at his confused expression.
�If your going to break regulations better make it good,� Sam said smiling.
Jack closed the distance between them wrapping his arms around her waist lifting her up. Sam opened her mouth as she wrapped her legs around his waist. She felt his hands go up her shirt as he pressed her against the wall. He smiled against her lips when he found out she had no bra on. Sam felt him leave her mouth to lift the shirt over her head then return again.
As her feet hit the ground she lifted Jack�s shirt above his head while making their way towards her bedroom. Soon his pant and her boxers followed landing somewhere between the living room and her bedroom door. Jack stopped at her door thinking about what they were about to do. When it was all about to sink in he felt him self being pulled into bedroom against her mostly naked body. Before making it to the bed he pulled her panties down watching her kick them away.
As Jack fell on the bed he felt Sam pull down his boxers, he moaned at the feeling of being free. Tossing them on the floor she crawled up his body.
