1861

I, John Brown, am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away but with blood.

A new rival North American republic emerged to challenge the old one. What would the President of the first one do? Were the seceding states right to leave the United States?

When Major Anderson defended Fort Sumter, the answer to the question above was offered. War. War between the northern states and the southern ones. War and death and destruction. picture of rebel fighter

The Civil War began at 4:30 a.m. on the 12th of April, 1861 at Fort Sumter. The First Bull Run would follow three months later. When the eleven Confederate states joined together to form a new country they invited war. And, they got it. Fort Sumter, then the Baltimore riots, riots in St. Louis, Sewall's Point, the occupation of Alexandria VA, the occupation of Grafton BA, fighting at Arlington Mills and Fairfax County Courthouse, the arms seizures at Du Pont, Bethel Church, Mathias Point VA, Hoke's Run, Martinsburg, Carthage MS, the First Bull Run (Manassas), Port Royal and others.

Let's take a look at 1861.
