The idea behind television in today's society to make money.  Those who profit most from television are the networks that have the manpower and finances (and not to be forgotton is the amount of people they reach).  These are all characteristics network executives rely on, but only if people continue to purchase television sets.   This issue seems to not be a problem as the growing cost of new technology is not slowing the public's demand for the best and most esquisite of television sets.

Below are some of the purchase options consumers have when it comes to tapping into the programming set up by these networks.
( all the tv sets below come cable ready, assuming the consumer has a cable service provider)

As for the networks providing the public with access to all the television stations available, there are four.  Their annual estimated revenues are based on advertising spots sold, as well as the production value of all their conglomorates.
