The  development   of the Railyards at Inveresk was a brave venture when originally planned as an urban renewal project.

The site has grown to become a major focal point for the Launceston Community

Developers hope to  boost the site further  with plans for the construction of a cinema and residential apartments on the southern boundary.

Touring Shows regularly use the facilities including the Olympic Torch Relay  the Centenary of Federation exhibit , Targa Tasmania,Gone South,healing expos and tourism promotions

The AFL standard football ground at York Park ,is a regular fixture for both  the Hawthorn and St Kilda Football Clubs,who have adopted Tasmania as a home away from home.

The Launceston Community are keen to be involved in the future development of the site for community purposes as witnessed by the strong interest in the Museum Search Conference.
