Alfresco Dining and On Street Cafes

Launceston people like to sit outside and have a drink , or a meal from the many restaurants and bars around the City.

The Malls and The Civic Square are      popular places to gather for a coffee or a meal.

There also many places right on the footpath to sit and people watch with a long black or cafe  latte.

There is much interest in Launceston at the moment in the latest project for a tram cafe in the Brisbane St Mall.

Launceston Entrepreneur,Roger Smith wishes to present Launceston with  a gift of a mall water feature and tram cafe  for it's Bicentenary in 2004 .

This is to be discussed by the Launceston City Council on
Monday April 14,following that meeting the normal processes  of public consultation is expected.
