No Budget? No Problem! We love a challenge!

The City of Champions Lions Club works in the community year-round. Our club is proud to work with local schools and community groups to improve opportunities for Edmontonians. 

We are pleased to work with such facilities as The Sacred Heart Church (Christmas dinner), The Bissell Centre, and the Tevie Miller Heritage School for the Deaf. Our club offers sponsorships to students demonstrating outstanding volunteer commitments, and provides Bags of Caring to the Misericordia Hospital.

As Albertans, we're proud to work with organizations improving the quality of life for everyone living in our province.

While Lions are known for work involving vision (such as the Lions Eye Bank of Alberta), we also participate in Cavalcade for Diabetes (to raise funds for and awareness of diabetes treatment) and Camp Health Hope and Happiness - Camp He Ho Ha - where Albertans of all ability levels can enjoy camping and safe vacations.

As Canadians, we are involved in national projects including work with the CNIB (the Canadian National Institute for the Blind).

Canadians with visual impairments can enjoy curling through Western Blind Curlers,

or golfing with the Blind Golfers Association, or enjoy independent living with the help of a Dog Guide - and we're honoured to be part of each of these organizations. For several years we've worked with the Tsarvik School in Nunavut, who really do get a visit from Santa on a snowmobile!

We also work for members of our global community, sponsoring projects to assist with vision and hearing issues around the world, and disaster relief wherever needed.

Our club works every year to support and promote Project Pride/Peace Posters, Quest, and SightFirst. We collect used eyeglasses for use wherever they're needed - contact us if you have eyeglasses no longer in use!  Support includes promoting understanding of other cultures, such as our Youth Exchange program.
