Mr.Tan Hock Hee, 52, is no stranger to the charity scene. Having been the chairman for CityCare Charity Group [An Independent volunteer group formed by CityCab Cabbies for the past 5 years, Mr.Tan had spearheaded many community projects such as the LoveCOPE Project and the Bread On Wheels Project which had helped many welfare organisations and needy individuals.
Mr.Tan was one of the eight pioneers who started this charity group. In line with the group's mission, to help the less fortunate, specifically the disabled and the elderly; the group grown from eight members to fifty members till now under Mr.Tan's leadership. In recognition of CityCare Charity Group's effort, the group was awarded the prestigious President's Social Service Award (Informal Category) in the year 2003.
Mr.Tan was rewarded for his noble mission to help the needy and the less fortunate. He was presented with the CityCab Crystal Award (Special Category) in recognition of his volunteerism in Charity work. Mr.Tan will be stepping down as the Chairman of the Group and will assume the role of founder of CityCare Charity Group. His successor, Mr.Alan Choo will take over the helm of the group and continue the group's mission : To provide love and care to the less fortunate regardless of race, language and religion.
